Synopsis:
Habaki (police officer) and En (writer) are a pair who grew up together in the same orphanage. Review Proper
So, I actually listened to this right after I did Kurui Naku, but I dropped it because following it with the manga was such a chore. I mean, it was already hard seeing as how different the pacing was in the BLCD as opposed to the manga, but there was also the issue of the mistranslations in the scanned version of it. Don’t kill me for this, Chrima, y’all know I love you guys, but why so many? 😢 However, since my love for Ono and Okitsu outweighed me spazzing over every little thing, I just decided to not read the manga and be done with it. I wasn’t too sure if it was a good idea to put this right after Takane no Hana ‘cause it was a tough act to follow, but I didn’t want to move on to the next log without trying. THERE’S GOT TO BE A REASON WHY THIS WAS SO ACCLAIMED, RIGHT??? IT EVEN GOT 12TH PLACE IN BLIND CHIL-CHIL, YANNO???
Tbh, I’ve already read chapter 1 from Daddy even before the BLCD, and the plot didn’t really grab me ‘cause idk. It just gave me weird Memento Scarlet vibes lmao. Thankfully, however, it got super interesting towards the climax! I did not expect that En was just pretending to be an omega! WHATTA TWIST! I might just been dumb for not reading the signs, but whatever. Damn, I knew it was gonna be melancholic, BUT I DIDN’T KNOW IT WAS GONNA BE THAT SAD! IT’S ALMOST LIKE KASHI-

I was so preoccupied with this being a reversed Coyote, so I definitely did not see that Miyauchi Ichirou revival! UGH! I FEEL SO VERY BETRAYED!!! Don’t get me wrong, I mean, KD and this is only similar in regards to that beta wanting to be another gender thing. It hurts different and all, BUT I WON’T BE ABLE TO GET OVER THIS, OKITSU. IT’S MY FAULT FOR BEING DUMB, BUT I JUST DIDN’T SEE IT UGHHHHHH
Okitsu also didn’t use his Miyauchi tone here, which is nice ‘cause I just heard from his KD partner, Maeno, one CD ago, who also didn’t use his Kudo voice. I believe this is the highest tone I’ve heard him in recently. His bedroom voice threw me off a little though ‘cause it felt a little too pornstarny and awkward, BUT THEN I FIND OUT THAT HE WAS PURPOSEFULLY ACTING THAT WAY AND WHEN THEY HAD REAL SEX LATER ON, IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL??? OKITSU HOW ARE YOU SO TALENTED??? I HATE YOU FOR FOOLING EVEN ME LIKE THAT??? Man, I just really can’t with Okitsu. He will be the death of me. 😩

Finally, OnoYuu redemption arc!!!
Nothing better than this to revive my faith in OnoYuu ‘cause the last BLCD of his I listened to was Yuukyuu Omega where he voiced that horrible alpha, well, horribly. It’s actually been a whole year since I’ve heard him in a good top role, with the last one being Sohei-san in Love Hole 303. He’s a bit less daddy here but more nice next door onii-chan, so that was welcome change. I’d argue that he did better here than his Kimi to Boku to Sekai no Hotori, which is the closest role I can think of dynamic and tone wise. But I mean, he’s playing opposite Okitsu, a BLCD being magic is almost always a given when you put those two together (read: Coyote). It’s a bit sad, but I only have Coyote and Nikurashii Kare on my next log, but I find solace in the fact that he’ll be in his middle tone in Nikurashii too.
Everyone else did spectacular too. I was so absorbed in their performances that I didn’t even realize that Kumaken and Takuchan were in this. Kumaken as Saginuma really surprised me ‘cause I always say that he and OnoYuu sound simi-

For however jumbled the events were in the BLCD, I would still 100% recommend it to fans of the manga. I didn’t have any issues with Kilscud this time ‘cause the sound engineering was actually great here. Also, to whoever casts for them, I really don’t know if I should praise or curse you. Again, this is plot heavy and had frequent flashbacks, so it would be tough to follow if you’re a beginner at the language. I fervently hope that this gets licensed sometime soon. This is me deluding myself that June would somehow get it ‘cause nobody else does Kaiousha. Recommendations? Look at me. Closer. You know I’m gonna say Kashikomarimashita Destiny, don’t pretend. 🤧
