If we talking WNBA dynaties … we gotta start with the first and the finest. Theeee Houston Comets! & while we’re at it lets start to put som
Houston Comets!! A true dynasty!
Houston Comet's third consecutive championship - 1999
You'll notice the Kim Perrot jersey in the middle. Perrot had been with the Comets for the previous two seasons, but in February of 1999 she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Perrot passed away on August 19, just a few weeks before the championship game. The Kim Perrot Sportsmanship award is named in her honor.
If you can't tell... I am missing the good ol' days where I watched WNBA all the time.
HUUGE Comets fan... they should bring them back. I miss them.
LOVE the Sparks... but not as much as the Comets
I remember the only game I got to actually go to... my 11th or 12th birthday. The Houston Comets vs. Phoenix Mercury. Cynthia Cooper was my hero when I was growing up, but she had already retired from the Comets. Lucky for me, she happened to be coaching Phoenix, so I got to see her. I remember shouting from the stands every time Sheryl Swoopes made shot "Swoopes! There it is! Swoopes! There it is!"
This picture is from one of the Comets championship games, right after they won. I believe this is from the year that Kim Perrot died toward the end of the season from cancer.
