hiya! no problem! i never really had a set plan or knew what i wanted to do at university until i was 16 and sending off my applications too, so it’s okay to not know! i wanted to do biology, but i didn’t have the a-levels my top unis were asking for, so wasn’t eligible. instead, i decided to do psychology for a few reasons: i found the subject interesting and enjoyable, i had a great teacher, and finally (and this isn’t a good reason to choose your subject) i found it pretty easy/straightforward! i was good at it, and while there were times it was challenging mostly it didn’t give me much trouble. psychology at university is very different. i realised i wasn’t studying it because i loved it, i was studying it because i knew i could do well in it. now, i’m transferring to do biology anyways! it took me a little bit longer, but i didn’t want to settle for doing something i didn’t enjoy just because it was easier. so! don’t worry if you unsure of what to major in, there’s always time. it takes others (like me) a lil longer to figure it out, but you’ll get there! try and think about what subjects you enjoy, what grades you’ve worked really hard for, and where you want to see yourself in 10 years or so - what sort of career do you want to have? hopefully that’ll help you figure it out! good luck with school!
