Kim Dae Mun has recently been my favourite outlet for cheap tasty korean food.
Kimchi Chigae (Kimchi soup)
*Pls pardon my poor photography skills
I reckon that there is no other place in Singapore that serves kimchi chigae at only $6 and still taste good.
The soup taste great and there are generous portions of kimchi in it. The pork slices in it, however, are measly and not of the pork’s belly. Nevertheless, taking into consideration the price of the item, one can’t be asking for too much right? =X haha
Personally, I think there is nothing great about this dish. Everything about it is average, from the soup to the meat. It also leaves you feeling very thirsty after the meal. It would not be something I would return to the place for but I have seen quite a number of people order this dish… so it could just be me haha.
I am looking forward to try the korean glass noodles, steamed saba fish and the ddukbokki (spicy rice cake) the next (few) times I return to the place.
You can select a side dish of either kimchi, anchovies or pickled cucumbers to go with any of your main dish. Nothing great about the side dishes though.
It is currently located at Level1, Concorde foodcourt, 100 orchard road S(238840). The nearest MRT station would be somerset. The outlet may be shifting to another venue soon though.
I truly hope the price does not change after they shift out though hahaha
