Avatar/BNHA Crossover
Because I'm trying to do more writing things on the writing blog--you didn't get me kind of noodling on the parallels and mirroring going on in BNHA with Shouto and in Avatar: the Last Airbender with Zuko.
Nope... def wasn't getting all those vibes... at all.
So what if Shouto is the reincarnation of Zuko?

Shouto is said to be a child of fire and ice, but in his dreams, all he sees is fire. In his dreams, there is fire and battleships, metal, and war. There is training. Even though he’s small, Shouto somehow knows that this training in his dreams, it’s different from the training his father puts him through. Though another father looms over him. Angry. Demanding. Disappointed. But burning black eyes, not fire-bright blue. When he wakes up, Shouto looks in the mirror and wonders if the dark eye he sees is from the him in his dreams, not his mom.
Doing this in little 100-word snippets ('cause I do not want this to end up being a really long fic), but here's the first one.

So I have two potential DabiShou longfics (though these should be of the 40-50k variety not the 85k variety) in the wings and because keeping myself posting weekly seems to have been good for me, I'm going to leave it to my lovely readers to help me decide which one to pull up next. Both of these are endgame DabiShou.
Our Contenders:
I Didn't Know Where Else to Go: Escaped villain Dabi, Medic Shouto, found family (Shouto is adopting a little girl, so kidfic), slow burn falling in love. The smut will get in there sooner or later, but it will be down the road.
Tundra: Hero Dabi, Vigilante Shouto, identity porn. Genderbending Shouto (his civilian idenity is a female). They start sleeping together before realizing they're brothers. Shouto's vigilante name is Tundra. This is more porn with plot.

Summary:
Dabi steps into Fatgum's office, surprised to be called in. "You wanted to see me?" he asks. Stress lines are starting to show around Fat's face, and he rubs his temples. "This new vigilante... Tundra. Your last report said you talked to him?" Not sure where this is going, Dabi nods. "Why?" Sighing, Fatgum says, "So far, his track record with capturing villains with minimal muss and fuss and nearly no property damage has made him... potentially more valuable as a hero than as an object lesson." Dabi's no idiot. "You mean he's powerful enough that they don't want a showdown with him they may lose." Shaking his head, more as if he can't believe he's saying it than because he disagrees with Dabi's assessment, he says, "I mean they think he should be a top hero, and since he's yet to make a public scene or do anything that isn't otherwise by the books, they want to see if they can salvage him." Salvage is an interesting way to frame it. "And if they can't?" Dabi asks. It earns him a flat stare. "Talk to him. Try to make friends with him. If there's any chance we can make him a hero... we could certainly use him."

When I have to work on the next chapter of Tundra, and what I *really* want is to have Dabi and Shouto have car sex...
...only it makes absolutely zero sense for Dabi and Shouto to have car sex, especially because Dabi knows they're brothers (even if Shouto doesn't).
*sigh*
I think I just want more porn in my plot in general, but the plot is just not lining up in a way to allow that.
