word count for the chapter: 4.8k (I just love to write this story! And lots of things going to happen in this one chapter, so read carefully.)
⇁ ⇁ ⇁
The flat was full; Annie, Hughie, and Kimito were watching their favorite TV show in couch; M.M., Frenchie, and Aiden were discuss about how they could access to Vought building; you and Butcher were sitting on his table, facing each other. You have never felt this much joy and peace in your life. They felt like a real family that you and Aiden never had ‘till you found each other. Amy and Aiden were your family and the boys made this family bigger. You liked each of them, they had their own personalities. They were unique. Seeing all of them getting close with you and Aiden put a smile on your face.
As Butcher saw your cute smile, he raised an eyebrow, “What it is hon?”
“It’s nothing.” You smiled, “I just realized how handsome you are.” This caught him off guard. Your smile became wider with his expression, a little pink on his cheeks. Currently, you were looking for some information about Victoria’s past. Butcher had gone yesterday to find out if she had a relative. He found Victoria had a daughter. No other information came from men Butcher found and questioned. You guessed he just did some jobs for them in his previous years and they gave information this easily. The man was a mystery. What he was doing, what he was thinking or what were his motives was only him to know, not anyone else. However, with some encouragement comes from Annie’s comments about your closeness with Butcher, you hoped you were breaking him, in a good way of course. From what you understood, his trust was increasing from day to day like Homelander’s.
When he hit the table, not too loud, you broke away from your thoughts and looked at him with concern, “Hey,” You touched his resting hand on the table. He looked your hands, then you, “We will get information about her, don’t worry.” You pointed Frenchie, Aiden and M.M., “They are trying to find a way to access Vought’s computer system.”
He rolled his eyes, not taking his hand even an inch, “It would take days, even months and we don’t have any time. These fuckers’ power is growing every passing moment.” He was right. After Homelander killed a citizen in front of everybody, people began to fear of him. Yes, there were so many people who are protesting Vought and Homelander’s power, wanting USA president to put him jail, the majority of those who feared and respected him could not be ignored. Having fear was not surprising because normal humans, who don’t have any power, can be scared easily when there is a sadistic supe who can kill them any second. It was messed up when other normal humans began to have a sympathy for him, respecting his motives, believing he was doing right things, and wanting him to take control like he was protecting them. They were bunch of dumbass. They were generally those who saw USA superior than the whole word. They believed Homelander was a need for their country. As if it wasn't enough that those who had the power already had disgusting personalities, it was devastating seeing normal people had respect for these supes.
“And our power is increasing too.” He was acting like they were doing the most logical thing about supes to the others but he shared his true thoughts when he was with you. When he became this close to you was a question you couldn’t find answer. On the other hand, you became this close to him too. Questioning was not something you could do right now though. You needed to meet with Homelander in Vought and then he would take you to meet with his son, Ryan. So, you stand up. Your hands now rested in Butcher’s shoulders, standing beside him. He looked up to see your face. How this man looked so damn good in every possibly situation? You wondered how his attractive face would look while he was eating your p- ‘Stop!’ Your own voice stopped you. You were glad because you already felt your cheeks burn.
You knew everybody were in their own worlds. You could see their backs turned to you, not seeing what you were doing with Butcher. Taking strength from this knowledge, you leaned slightly towards him. From this close, his darkened eyes looked incredible. You wanted to touch his beard but this would be too much. Your hands stayed on his strong shoulders, “I don’t know if you believe me Butcher. Or my power. But I give you the promise that I will do my fucking best to get all of you out of these situations.” You squeeze his shoulders lightly, “I believe in you and I hope you will believe in me.”
You took your hands off his shoulders in the silence that lasted under his staring eyes. Just when you were about to turn around and leave, his gentle grip on both wrists caused your heart rhythm to deteriorate. “Believing is a dangerous liquor to drink, honey. Gaining it from me would be harder than you think.” He sounded so deep and sexy at the same time. You leaned closer, looking directly at his eyes, “Then, it means that I will give you the best liquor no one can give.”
He smirked, “This is a big word honey.”
Even though the whole thing was pretending to be a tease, you could see the excitement starting to build up inside both of you even without using your strength.
Annie and Kimito rushed towards you, your phone in their hand, “He’s calling.” Annie told you, in disgust. Kimito nodded and you looked to Butcher for a moment to see his reaction but he already went Hughie, Aiden and M.M.’s sides.
“We have to go to the street, he shouldn’t hear them.” You pointed the boys. They nodded in agreement.
You picked up the phone as soon as you reached the street using your superhuman speed so as not to get on his nerves by making him wait too long. He was an impatient man. Streets’ loud noise became blurry when you heard his excited voice, “Hi, Y/n! I was wondering if you are ready for our meeting.”
“Of course Homelander. I was waiting for your call.”
He chuckled, “Great! I will be in Vought in 5 minutes.”
You smiled, “Is this a race, Ms. World’s Fastest Man?” You challenged him. Challenging Homelander meant danger but you wanted him to acknowledge your power more to prevent his bossy attitude.
Silence welcomed you but then, his dangerous filled voice went from your ears to your body, giving you shiver, not because you were afraid of him, but because he sounded so good with that tone. He really was good at be a villain in this story. “Oh, are you challenging me Aeriy, Aeriy?” Did he use your supe name to create a nickname for you and he sounded funny not cringe with this? Oh, the whole situation was becoming more complex each day.
“Only if you say so, Ms.”
“Meet me in the tower’s roof, little challenger.”
As soon as you turn off the phone, you smiled at yourself. You were not going to beat him of course. Yes, he should know your power but not really. You were just going to give him an image like you had great power. Yes, you did, indeed. However, you didn’t want him to how much it was. You shouldn’t give him an expression you were superior. If he felt that way, he would try to kill you and that would be no use to the boys’ process.
So, you waited for 2 minutes in the street, messaging Annie that you would go to the meeting. After 2 minutes past, you found a secret corner in the street and when no one was looking at your direction, you began to fly towards the tower of Vought.
⇁ ⇁ ⇁
Homelander was waiting for you. His hands unified behind his back, looking at the city. When you launched to the tower, he stayed same. An idea came to your mind in that moment. The closeness between you needed to grow more. Meeting would be the best way to grow it but you needed more. So, you approached him from behind with little steps. You knew he heard every step but he didn’t move, he just said, “I won.”
You chuckled, “Of course you won Homelander. I was just having some good time by racing with you.” Now, you were right behind his body. He was tall. His shoulders were well-built. After a little hesitation, you put your chin on his left shoulder, your hands unified behind your back. Just your chin was touching him but it was enough to make his heart beat change its rhythm for a second. Your superior hearing ability was not in his knowledge, luckily. If there was anything more shocking than how it struck him, it was that your own heart rhythm also changed for a second the moment your chin touched his shoulder. You understood better why people were afraid of him when you were this close to him. From this close, he really looked like a Greek God, but his personality was a barrier for you to have good feelings about him except sympathy and pity.
He looked at your from corner of his eyes. Your eyes turned from the city’s view to his blue eyes. They looked innocent. They looked like he had a pure soul. However, you even didn’t believe he had a soul at all.
“Hmm?” You asked.
He didn’t smile or smirk. He stayed unreadable. You tilted your head to left, making your right cheek touch his shoulder. The more touching meant more closeness. It was clear as day.
After staring at each other for a few seconds, your inner voice came out of your control, “You really look like a Greek God.” This caused you to be shocked inside as it boosted his ego but you didn't show it to him, you simply lifted your head from his shoulder and asked "When are we leaving?" quickly. “I want to meet with him. He looked so cute in TV.” You smiled at him, not looking at his direction.
“Are you blushing?” His question bothered you. He had to be one who was blushing, not you. No.
You laughed, teasing him, “It is hard to make me blush Homelander.”
Your mind added, ‘And I just want one person make me blush and he isn’t you. It can’t be.’
Without questioning you any further, he said, “We should leave now. He is waiting for us.” Some noises came from his side, making you looking at him. When you saw what he was holding in his hands, you cursed. Of course, he trusted you but not enough to let you see where he kept Ryan.
He approached towards you, a black eye patch in his hands. “I want you to wear this, Aerial.” The tone in his voice seemed to threaten you, and he chose your supe name. That meant he was not asking, he was commanding.
You nodded in despair. He stood behind you, placing black eye patch piece on your eyes. His breaths were touching your hair. He was so close. He tied up the patch, leaving you totally in darkness. Thanks to your power, you could still see around you. Not much, but still his presence was visible to your closed eyes. “Okay, great. Now, let’s go.”
His hand came closer to your waist, nearly touching you. Your body tensed. You unintentionally took a step back from his touch. It had been a long time since you had been extremely close with someone. The touches you had with him and Butcher were so small but now, he was asking to hold you. Your eyes were closed so that meant you wouldn’t fly. He had to fly with him.
“May I?” He asked, innocently. If it wasn’t for the boys, you would just leave him there.
You nodded.
He placed his left hand on your waist, holding it tightly. You bodies clashed each other. Your chest was touching his, hands placed on his shoulders. He was looking down at you. You could see it behind patch. The places he touched began to burn. Your breaths hitched. He was so fucking close.
“Now, you are certainly blushing.” He laughed, not like a maniac, instead, like he was really enjoying this.
“We should go Homelander,” You tried to smile. “We don’t want Ryan to wait for us.”
He nodded and then your flight began.
⇁ ⇁ ⇁
You knew that the flight with Homelander had finally come to an end from his slowing speed and finally from your feet touching the ground. You had to think long and hard to figure out whether the feelings he created in you with this short but rapid flight were excitement, disgust or something else. Leaving all this to think later, you took the black eye patch off your head and waited for your eyes to get used to the light for a few seconds. Then, you saw a duplex house in front of you. It looked good. There were no other houses around but it was surrounded by greenery all around, making it look incredibly creepy but also heartwarming. You understood this protective stance of Homelander on Ryan. He really meant so much to Homelander. You thought he was the first and only person who made Homelander feel emotions rather than Soldier Boy, his father. Not that type father but the father father. ‘Oh you began so sound stupid! How Homelander have this effect on you? He is your enemy, Y/n.’ Your voice nearly yelled at you.
You and Homelander went out on the porch of the house. He opened door, reliving a stairs on the right, three rooms on the left. One of their doors was open and some noises came from there. They looked like car noises.
“Ryan!” Homelander shouted. He turned to you, “I think he is playing video games. I will go and get him. Wait here.”
You nodded. He disappeared behind doors. You waited, not walking inside. When he was speaking with Ryan, the phone in your pocket vibrated. Taking Homelander absence as an advantage, you look at the message. It was from Butcher. You tried your best to not smile like crazy. You opened it. There were two words but they made you happier than ever; ‘Be careful’.
He was caring for you. The Billy Fucking Butcher was caring for you!
You put your phone in your pocket when you heard approaching steps. There he was, Ryan. He literally looked alike Homelander. His hair was lighter in color, his eyes were softer than Homelander's, and he sure looked more innocent than him. He was a kid after all. However, his life couldn’t be worse. He lost his mother, he killed her accidently while trying to protecting her, as Annie told you about. She had learned this from Hughie, and he had learned this from Butcher. You wanted to hear these whole things from Butcher’s himself. One day you would hear, you hoped. Also, Ryan’s father was the biggest treat to the world, Homelander. He clearly cared for his kid but you assumed he was not good at being a father so much. He needed help. You knew that.
You bent slightly, placing your hands on your knees to see him more closely. You raised your hand into a fist and extend it towards him to meet. He looked at Homelander. When his father nodded positively, he made a fist and hit yours. You smiled. He was cute.
“I am Y/n. Nice to meet you, Ryan. I hope we will be a great team!” Your sincere was true. You weren’t acting. You never would act in front of a child. He was pure. He needed love, like every other children. Even if his father was Homelander, it didn’t mean that you had to be cruel to him. Ryan was special for both Butcher and Homelander, and now, he was becoming special for you too.
He just nodded, not saying anything. He was not that social, not surprisingly. You wouldn't be surprised if he said he hasn't been in contact with anyone his own age until now, and the fact that there was nothing around the house was a reason. He was alone. He had no one except Homelander. It was Butcher firstly but now, it was his father.
Homelander touched his shoulder, “C’mon Ryan. Talk with her.”
Ryan looked tensed. Homelander weren’t good at reading people, it was clear. To make Ryan feel better, you bent one knee and crouched down, “I think you were playing video games, right?”
He nodded again. Then, silence.
You kept your smile, “I like to play video games too.” He was interested. “Do you play games too?”
You nodded, “Of course! And I bet you I am really good at it.” You winked at him. He smiled, this was a good sign. So, you continued. “Mostly, I play racing games like Crew and Need For Speed. They make you feel excited.”
“Right?! I like to play them too. I was playing Crew II just now.” He sounded happy.
“Oh, really? I didn’t want to interrupt you.” You were sad because you really didn’t want to interrupt his happy moments with his games.
He shook his head, “No, no. It’s okay.” He looked Homelander who was watching both of you in silence, then you again. “Do you want to play it?”
“Oh, Ryan, I would love to! But we don’t want make your dad wait for us, do we?” You made a fist again and held it out to him, “But I gave you my promise; we will play it next time. Today, we should spend time together. All of us.”
Ryan nodded. Homelander took his hand in his after he hit your hand with his little one.
You stand up and looked them, and Homelander looked like a kid like Ryan. Both of their eyes were filled with pure happiness, making you feel warm.
“So,” You placed your hands on your waist. “Pretty boys,” They both smiled. “Who wants to make a huge cake with me?”
⇁ ⇁ ⇁
“No, Ryan!” Homelander was holding his hands in front of his face, trying to avoid the tip of the cream-filled bag in Ryan's hand. Ryan’s laughers echoed in entire kitchen. You chuckled at them while cutting strawberries’ green side.
“Come here Ryan, I need your help!” You made a sad face showing the strawberries in your hand. He came to your side. He got up on the small chair that you put in front of the table in the middle of the kitchen, so that he would be able to reach. He took one of the strawberries in your hand, spraying cream on the strawberry to give an eye detail. Then, he gave to his dad, who was in charge to add little chocolate chip on these eyes details and put them in a plate. When every strawberry decorated, taking huge cake from kitchen counter, putting it in front of them. You stood between both of them, taking the plate filled with strawberries in front of three of you.
“Now, it’s the best time!”
You and Ryan turned to each other, “Decorate the cake!”
You both chuckled. You were preparing a huge cake together to eat it when it is done. So, this was the last touch; decorate it. You gave Ryan a strawberry, then Homelander, and then finally you took one for yourself.
“We should do it in order, got it?” They nodded. “Ryan, you first.”
He placed the first one on the cake with his little cute hands. With each passing second, your affection for this child grew more and more.
“It’s your turn, Y/n!”
You nodded, placing yours on the cake.
“It’s your turn now, dad!” Ryan shouted again. He was happy. You were happy. And even if it was hard to tell, Homelander was happy.
He placed his and this continued to the last strawberry.
“Can we eat it now?”
“Yes, we can. Do you want to cut it into slices with me?”
When the little Ryan nodded excitedly as yes, without waiting for the Homelander's approval, you gave him a not-so-sharp knife that could only cut through the easy stuff. He took it, placed it on cake. You hold his hands in your, moved his hand to cut the cake. He was smiling non-stop. Seeing him like this was feeling good. He hadn’t known too many people in his life, and although it was sad that you were older like all of these people he had met, it was pleasing that he saw you as his friend.
You continued to cut the cake into slices as Ryan took three plates from counter. You gave them their cake slices as you took yours. “Let’s go to the living room. We can eat our cakes there.”
Ryan rushed inside with his plate and fork. Homelander stood up, breaking his silence. “Thank you.” This was all he said before rushing inside like Ryan.
You stood in the kitchen, frozen. The tone he used who never thanked or appreciated to what others did for him showed that his thank was real and sincere. He thanked you for becoming a friend to Ryan. While their voices rising, you came back to reality and you left it to think later about how you would tell the story of the increasing closeness between you to the boys.
⇁ ⇁ ⇁
“Are you leaving?” Ryan, who was looking at you from the living room door at the entrance, caught your attention. You bent slightly to see the little boy behind the Homelander's built body, “Don’t worry, I will come back later pretty boy.”
Then, you opened your arms at him, “Come, give your chef a huge hug!” He run towards you, jumping inside your arms like he was waiting for someone to hug him. Your short hug ended eventually and he went back to inside, leaving you and Homelander alone.
“You can stay if you want.”
“I can’t. I have works to do tomorrow and I need a rest.” You took a step back, “Thanks for the day. I really enjoyed.”
He stayed silent. Strangely today, instead of constantly joking and smiling, he took a serious stance. You stopped for a moment to wonder if you did something wrong, but you decided not to delve into it and took a few more steps back. Remembering where you were the moment you looked into the dusk, you took a look around and turned towards him. You nervously put your right hand on your left elbow and tried to smile, “Can you tell me where we are so I can find my way easier?”
His straight face remained, “I can not do that, Aeriy, you know that.”
Sure, what did you expect anyway? Having a nice day with him and his son makes him trust you this much? Of course, he wouldn’t trust you. Maybe, never. This situation caused a slight pain in your heart but whether it caused because it would make things go slower for the boys or you wanted him to trust you was an unanswered question.
“I can give you two choices though,” He made the sign of the number two with his hand. “One, you can stay in here ‘till morning and then we go to Vought together. Two, I can fly with you right now but in return, you had to do me a favor.” He added, “Choice is yours.”
What he did not only unnerves you, but also arouses a dangerous curiosity inside. You knew you shouldn't stay here. The boys would call you and you couldn’t talk with them while Homelander was sleeping in other room. The man had great hearing ability. First choice eliminated.
On the other hand, with second choice, he would give you a demand. You didn’t know what he would give you and possibilities that run inside your head were gloomy. But you had no other choice, so.
“What’s this favor?”
He took slow steps towards you. He was trying to make you nervous with his each step. Although you were not like other people, his this approach made you nervous. Finally, he stood in front of you, eyes glowing with danger. Also, his straight and serious face didn’t help you.
You knew the Deep wanted a blowjob from Annie. Now, Homelander was following same steps with him, and you wanted so bad that he wouldn’t want this type of thing from you. The moment he wants something like this, you will kill him, you promised to yourself.
However, Homelander just stood there and after taking a deep breath, he said, “Can you hug me?”
When all the voices in your mind stopped, a single 'what?' shout was heard. You were sure that no matter what Homelander did, there would be a side of you that wouldn't be surprised, but what he said sounded like something even he didn't expect. His pupils were dilated and confused as much as you.
You looked at the person standing in front of you who seemed the strongest in the world, but also the most powerless, with a gaze that did not contain any judgment. Knowing that at all other times you can remember all the crap he's done, you decided to show him affection, for one time only.
You spread your arms wide and gently slid them around his neck. The situation, which was already strange enough, was made even more awkward by his stiffening body. Hugging you on the way here during the day was a must, but this, this was pure affection. Finally, when both of your arms were wrapped around his neck, you brought your body closer to him, causing your chests to collide. After you waited like this for minutes, you realized what his problem was. Without leaving his side, you looked up, to his straight face.
“Homelander.”
Your voiced caused him to jump in your hold. He looked you like he didn’t know you were there at all.
“Use your hands.”
“Hm?” He looked confused.
“To hug back, you should use your arms.”
It didn't take long for him to hug you back, realizing the whole situation. You hugged for some minutes. Each passing time, his hold became tighter. His breaths were touching your neck, his hair tickling your face, and his hands burning your skin. You were sure that what you had now was an affection that he didn't have with anyone else.
You stared at him in surprise when the warmth from him suddenly disappeared. He took a few step back as well. When you looked at the fire in his eyes, you seemed to believe that the person who just hugged you just now and this person would almost be different people. Homelander, who just had a confused look of innocence in his eyes, looked extremely uncomfortable with you right now.
“Are you ok –“
You tried to approach him but he put his hand in front of him, defensing his presence from you, “Don’t!” His voice was poisonous enough to make you feel pain. “Don’t.” Now, he sounded sorry.
What the fuck was going on?
You just needed to go home. You needed to see your friends.
“I should go home.”
You turned back, ready to fly without him but he came beside you by using his super speed, “Close your eyes.”
You closed your eyes, not wanting to keep spending your time with him. You were nervous and confused.
He hold you, you rested your hands on his shoulders and finally you were going to home.
⇁ ⇁ ⇁
- Homelander at his house, after leaving you -
A voice filled with anger echoed through his brain. The owner of this voice was his reflection in the mirror standing in front of him.
“Are you fucking serious?!” He shouted, “We built all of this, made you unbreakable, squish that stupid side on you. Now, you saw a fucking stupid girl and you are falling for her by destroying everything?”
Calmer, sadder, and scared voice filled the empty room, “No. I am not falling for her. I am not falling for anyone.”
“But you are,” His reflection pointed out, “I can’t help it either.”
“Then, what we will do?” His questioned made other smirked.
“We will make her ours.”
The one that can not even looking into the eyes of the other asked curiously, “What do you mean?”
His simple question did not anger the other, but rather amused him more. “Maeve failed. Stormfront failed. They all were weak. But she is not. She is powerful.” He smiled, “We need her. And we will make her need us.”
With his last advice, the room fell into silence. The man in front of the mirror thought for a moment about the harm that would do on you, but returned to reality eventually and claimed the rest of the evil of his mirror reflection. He was right. You were powerful and you should stay beside him.

word count for the chapter: 2.8k (I will try to publish chapters often as possible even if they are not that long, above 3k.)
⇁ ⇁ ⇁
“Turn from this corner,” Young receptionist showed you way of advertising shooting area, “Then you will find area.” You thanked her. Seeing some polite people in Vought made you relaxed. All of people were not that bad. They just needed some money for living their lives. Vought provided them enough money. As you understood from gossips, so many people left their jobs or Vought made them to leave to. So, they have begun to give more money to remaining people due to the scarcity of working people. After learning Vought’s real face, no one could blame those who quitted their jobs but it was a pleasure to have the kind ones among these remaining people.
You left the girl with the brown hair, tall and who has attractive features in her place and went to the shooting area. You were wearing your new outfit. Ashley called you yesterday and she said they want you to wear your outfit from now on because they aimed to publish your ads tomorrow morning, in their official websites such as Instagram and Youtube. Now you'd have to wear the black outfit that clings to you, showing parts of your body and making you look more like a secret agent than a supe more than half your day. You would probably be able to wear your own special clothes until the moment you leave work in the evening and before you get here in the morning. When it was decided that the outfit you were wearing would be your uniform of the Seven, Ashley had assured you that they made more of this outfit, so that there would be no problems with the washing process. As you knew, other supes had just one outfit, not more. So, it was a bit surprising. You wondered if Homelander’s attitude towards you made them act like this, behaving you like you were the most important supe in the team after Homelander of course. In reality, they all hated you. They hated supes. It was traveling in their hateful looks on each of you. You didn’t mind. You didn’t like supes either. You even didn’t like your supe side. That’s was the reason why you kept using your powers at minimum.
“Hey!” Ashley’s voice hit you the moment you entered the room, “Isn’t this beautiful lady our new hero?” Her voice was not genuine at all. You faked a smile, “Hi guys. Is everything ready in here?”
Ashley nodded while Ashley II, as you called, held out a pen and paper to you that looked like a contract on a hard object, which you later realized that you were right. “We've added a few additional clauses to the contract you signed earlier, so you need to sign this too.” Real Ashley made an explanation while you were reading the contract’s new clauses. First one was about keeping your outfit on you in every occasion. Second one was for some privacy elements like not talking about the team’s business in any place rather than Vought. These were not harmful but the last one was hit you. After reading the clause, you looked at two Ashley in both anger and wonder, “What is this?”
They understood what you meant immediately after hearing your sharp voice tone. You were angry. Ashley II looked to real Ashley in a little horror, clearly afraid of your sudden question. Real one tried to look calm even if she was afraid too. She kept a fake smile on her face, waving her hands in front of her chest like you were exaggerating the situation. “Oh, it’s just for making you more intriguing as new hero. And you know our member is missing and we need some – “
You cut her out. Normally, you wait for people to finish their speech even if they just talk bullshit but not this time. They wanted the craziest thing from you. “Who decided this clause?” You asked, more calmly this time.
Ashley didn’t say anything firstly, calculating if she should tell you or not. Then, she decided to tell, “Victoria.”
Without waiting for a second you asked again, “Where is her room?”
“It’s in the seventh floor, at the end of the corridor on the left.”
You didn't care a bit about the paper crumpled in your hand as you rushed out of the room to find Victoria.

“Come.”
When you entered the room, you found a woman with brown hair sitting behind her desk on the left of the room, and her self-confidence is evident even from her sitting position. She was dealing with a few papers on the table. You could see all over the city through the big window right in front of you. She had a surprised expression, which was clearly seen thanks to sun’s rays on her face.
You waited for her to speak. You needed to examine her personality better. She began to talk as you took some steps towards her large, nude colored desk. Her facial expression was changed from confused one to smiling one, “Oh, you are the new supe, right?”
You nodded.
She showed you a chair to sit. You sat down, without saying anything.
“I liked your outfit. It looks fresh.”
“Like Black Noir’s?” You asked, sarcastically. She looked at the paper on your hand.
“So this was the deal why you came here. I assume Ashley told you this.” She didn’t look angry, instead, she looked pleased.
“Yes, she did. She told me that you created these clauses.”
She nodded. The fact that she was looking straight into your eyes clearly showed that she was trying to give you the message 'I'm not afraid of you'. You didn't want her to be afraid of you anyway. It wouldn't matter if she was afraid of you or not. You wanted her to try blowing your head off. So, this was your chance to make her believe you were weaker than her. You were aiming to get her to do it with delicate touches with checkers that would piss her off. So, you added, “I thought you were just doing Vought’s political side’s business, not supes’.”
She smiled again. Oh, how she made your blood boil with her fucking smile. “Although my purpose of being here is political, I think we are aware that the image of the company affects everyone, including me. This influence naturally affects my political situation because one of my sponsors is a high-ranking member of Vought.”
You were confused, “I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the article you added here.” You showed the paper to her.
She leaned back, “Y/n,” She used your name for the first time and from what you heard, her tone sounded like she was pitying you, “As you know, our society has always been hungry for new things, especially situations related to people who are superior to them,” No, you weren’t superior those people who had no power. In your opinion, they were the superior ones because they lived a normal childhood, teenager and adulthood. On the other hand, you, supes as they called, lived a life with the pain that goes under the skin. Having this kind of power brings pain within it. This was the case even for anyone who seemed satisfied with their powers. You didn’t interrupt her tough. She doesn’t look like respect others’ opinions. “So, as a newcomer, it's better if we show you how intriguing but also someone who feels like them. They want revenge and you should act like you want too.”
This wasn’t a totally wrong. You wanted a revenge but not from the boys as they tried to show, but from them who was working with Homelander and Vought.
You chuckled with sarcasm, “So, you thought the best idea of doing this was –“ Sudden sound that came from opening door made you stop. Both you and Victoria turned to that direction, only seeing Homelander’s built body and his little smile. It didn't take a second to show your fake affection for him. “Oh, I wasn’t expecting you.” You said to him, smiling. He walked towards you, keeping his hands behind his back as always.
“I just heard your voice while passing this floor. I wondered your business with Victoria. That’s all.” No matter how much he said it, it was clear from the tone in his voice and the gleam that filled his eyes that this wasn't his only purpose.
Victoria intervened before you say something, “Oh, it’s just a business about her contract. We added some additional articles to make her appearance catchy as possible to public.” Now, she was using her ‘don’t tell anything about this to Homelander’ tone and it hadn't escaped from your notice that she used the word ‘we’ instead of ‘I’. She was really a bitch as Butcher said. How he was right always?
Butcher’s absence made you realize that this was the first time you met with Homelander alone, without Butcher on your side. You ignored the urge to go flat you shared with the boys, especially Butcher, as soon as it started to form inside of you. You had to focus.
When Homelander stood right next to you, you had to lift your head to look at him due to your sitting position. You felt that the dominant side of him that was wandering in his eyes was getting heavier because your position caused him to look down on you. You've never been so curious about what's going on inside his mind because you realized how his right hand rose a little bit towards your jaw. However, Victoria was there with you and you didn’t want to give her some clues about your relationship with Homelander.
To get out of the already awkward situation, you set out to explain in detail the real reason why you visited Victoria, “They added this part,” You used ‘they’ instead ‘she’, following Victoria’s decision. “In which they want me to act like I am Black Noir’s hidden girlfriend who joins to team to take his revenge.” The rising heat under the skin of the man after hearing those words, who looked like the realization of the body that came to mind when talking about the Greek gods, was not showing any harm against you. His rising heat was just for the woman behind you.
He turned to that woman, Victoria. The supreme self-confidence she displayed towards you seemed to be lying on the ground right now. She was not pleased at all that the suddenly changing mood of the room was facing her. “What were you thinking while making this fucking bullshit?!” Homelander nearly shouted to Victoria. Even if you didn’t like her, you didn’t want Homelander kill her either. You needed information and secrets that she had. So, you stand up, standing in front of Homelander. To make better affect on him, you touched his built chest with your right hand. “It’s okay.” Your voice was calm like the sound of little birds that gently wake you up in the morning. “We all know how the public hungry for this kind of drama.” You waved your left hand like it was nothing.
You couldn't help but be surprised when Homelander's fiery blue eyes staring at Victoria stopped on you and you saw the remnants of the nerve that was starting to subside in him. Although it has been a short time since you two met, your effect on him was something that could be seen by everyone. He needed someone like you. Although most of the feelings inside you were not your true feelings, in some places it was impossible to ignore the pity and closeness you felt for him and somehow it was harder than before for you to get over the effect of his blue eyes looking at you with bits of emotion. It was obvious that the closeness between you also caused this.
To escape from his piercing gazes, you turned to Victoria who was watching you in silence. “I think we should think about something else.” You suggested. She nodded immediately.
You turned to Homelander, “What do you say? I know you make smart decisions about these topics.” You smiled. He looked more relaxed with your compliment.
He shrugged, waving his right hand in the air, “I don’t know. I really don’t want to think about Black Noir.” He left your side, standing in front of huge windows. You turned to Victoria, “What about we use ‘best-friend’ trick?” You suggested. You could act like his sister but you didn’t know whether it would work because there was no information about Black Noir’s original identity. It would cause some dead-end roads not knowing anything about him. So, you chose this ‘best-friend’ one. “I can be his training buddy and we can show it like he was my mentor in the first place, then we became close friends. You should say that I was away for a hidden mission for a year. When I came back I found out that they took Black Noir and I want take his revenge while you are, the company working on finding him.” You smirked, “How does it sound?”
Victoria looked at Homelander for a second before answering, “It sounds great.” You weren't surprised that she found out you were trying to break her dominance in the eyes of the Homelander with your wits and suggestion. Although she forced herself to look positively, something tickled your skin as you felt the hatred in her eyes. ‘Bingo!’ You said to yourself. She was trying to find out whether she can blow your head off or not. You caught the disappointment filled fear running through her eyes as she realized that the overtaxed gaze only slightly tickled your skin. Her power didn’t work on you. She had not caused even the slightest harm to your body.
“What are you doing?” Homelander’s curios voice cut her gazes. She turned to her papers, “I was looking how beautiful she is.” Her fake smiled made you happier. First, she couldn’t use her powers. Then, she began to afraid of you and finally she understood how she should treat you.
With real happiness, you turned to Homelander, smiling widely. “As we agreed on this as well,” You pointed out the door, “Do you want to visit me in shooting place? I will take my first advertisement which will publish tomorrow morning.”
“Sure.”
You took one last look at Victoria before you left happily with Homelander. Your strength was beyond her power.

“How was it?” You asked as you walked towards the Homelander who was sitting right across the stage as if the seat that said ‘Aerial’ was his.
“One word; wonderful.” He smiled. “You did a great job right there.”
You said, “I hope people will like me.” standing right in front of him drinking an energy drink with the A-train logo on it that one of the employees hands you.
“Oh, don’t worry. They will.” This answer made you feel that he was going to force them to love you, not relying in faith.
You nodded. “Thank you, Homelander.” This was not an action you meant to say. It was more of a thing that came naturally from you. No matter how bad he was, it was a pleasure to come this far with the ease that he didn't show you his other side. You needed every bit of information and secrets circulating in the company for the boys even though your main goal was to destroy it and Homelander provided you this access. You were glad.
The sweet and sincere tone in your voice surprised him because as you understood from the first glance, the Homelander was just a person in need of love. He was someone who didn't know what true love is, what situations reflect true love and compassion. Blaming only him for his violence acts was wrong. People should blame people who made him what he is today. Maybe –, it was even hard to think about it in your own mind but maybe there was a hope. A hope that making Homelander turn into more human. Maybe it would worth to try.
He didn’t say anything for a moment. Then, he stood up. “Do you –“ He thought over what he was about to say. “Do you want to come with me to see my son, Ryan? This weekend.”
Now it was your turn to freeze because you didn't expect him to trust you so much. You knew he trusted his power that you couldn’t move a muscle to hurt his son, Ryan with his gazes on you but he also trusted you. You smiled warmly, “Of course. My pleasure.”
This was how you gained his trust and the feeling of happiness floating on your skin was not that this situation would open new paths for you, but the real feeling of gaining his trust, even a little.
