Japan's growing akiya (empty dwellings) problem is not local. It's happening all around the World. There is tremendous scope for historical conservation while adding a modern touch to both the material selection and design.
This is a prime example.
Another thing to note here is that the Owner started the project by himself and then realized he didn't have the time for it and then brought on board a professional Company that specializes in this work. It's always better to get some pro's on the job, it makes so many things easier and provides a way for the Owner to focus on other things as well.
