I would get sucked into this. Thank you Carolyn and, because Carolyn blamed you, Bri.
Rules are simple:
1. Write the questions down.
2. Answer them and then write 11 new ones.
3. Tag 11 people.
4. Let them know you’ve tagged them.
Questions for me:
1. Where were you born?
In a terribly unexciting place called Winfield, Illinois. I have never returned since. Or if I have it has literally only been to drive through it.
2. What’s your favorite book from childhood?
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. My favorite grade school teacher read it to me, and it was also the first more adult-ish book I read by myself on my own and understood.
3. Best memory from this year?
Holding a koala was pretty awesome.
4. Song that reminds you of middle school?
"Satisfaction" by Benny Benassi. Oh, awkward middle school dances.
5. Do you play an instrument?
I kindasortanotreally play piano. I mostly learned to read notes so I could play the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack.
6. Favorite sport?
Okay, I need you to imagine me saying this while looking slightly rabid and potentially frothing at the mouth: hockey.
7. Favorite Harry Potter character?
SIRIUS BLACK. His name cannot not be said without caps.
8. Ummm favorite Harrison Ford movie?
Why do you ask me questions like this? This is cruel and unusual punishment.
The Star Wars trilogy (can't stop won't stop because it's the SAME CHARACTER OKAY) but only because I'm pretty sure Han Solo is the most badass man in the galaxy.
9. Favorite subject in high school?
English. I always had really great English teachers who were very world-smart and encouraging.
10. Tell me a story about your favorite holiday.
I want to say this was at Christmas, but I could be wrong so sue me.
Prefacing this story with a bit of information: I really hate brussel sprouts. I hate most vegetables, but I really hate brussel sprouts, and at the time of this story I hadn't even tried them, but I didn't want to and I was ridiculously picky about what I ate. Moving on.
So, I'm at my friend's house eating dinner with her family, and the adults are joking about how my friend's mom would never eat a brussel sprout (because she is picky about her vegetables). So she quips up that she would eat one if I did.
My friend's dad looks at me and says, "Grace, I'll give you twenty five dollars if you eat a brussel sprout."
Because I was about ten at the time, wanted money, and also wanted someone to suffer with me, I said yes.
So not only did I get to watch my friend's mom cut up and eat her brussel sprout, but I also got $25 out of the deal.
(I've since upped my price per brussel sprout to $50.)
11. Biggest pet peeve?
When people walk really slowly in front of me. Especially when I need to get somewhere. If you are one of the people who does that, don't be surprised if I throw something at your head.
