So...this happened tonight...

And I am beyond myself.

Even after all the hard work recording, editing, and getting the word out, I never thought I’d reach 100 in less than 10 months. I’m stunned, I’m overjoyed, I’m so GRATEFUL to all my viewers and subscribers.

Yesterday was my parents’ anniversary and the first since Mom died in March. It was a hard day to get through. Thanks for giving me a happy memory for today. I just can’t believe it. I wish Mom could have been here to see me reach this milestone.

A thought occurred to me...

YouTubers and comic book superheros have a LOT in common:

They go by alter-ego names, such as Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, or, um...*cough* ...Kimtana... *cough*

They have repeatable catch-phrases

The recording setup/studio is their bat-cave or fortress of solitude

They have logos and branding that are instantly recognizable, as either a single letter or a simple image

Each has a unique skill, style, or method that sets them apart from others as their superpower

But there’s ONE way that YouTubers differ from comic book superheros, and that’s this:

Comic heroes are fictional. They can’t do anything to save anything in the real world

YouTubers are a force for good that has tangible, real outcomes and makes a genuine difference in this world.

YouTubers are able to:

Help dispel pain, depression, loneliness

while they don’t cure these, a gander in the comments section of any video will show you the difference that was made in someone’s life. You will inevitably find people who state that the YouTuber literally saved their lives.

Raise awareness and funds for charity and causes

Bring joy and laughter into a world filled with hurt, grief, and apathy

Not all heroes wear capes and costumes. The real, true ones have mics and cameras.
