Day 2 Kind Luna Lovegood

Honestly, I had a lot of trouble to decide who I will choose for the Harry Potter Fandom. Ultimately it was a Toss up between Luna here and Remus. Remus is kind despite adversity, Luna is kind and loving innocence. Neville might have also been an option. I decided to go with Luna, as she’s a type of ... oblivious kindness that is rare and I have quite a few other characters on my list that are ‘kind in the face of adversity’.

So Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter! At this point I will apreciate both book and movie Luna, as I think her character was done justice and at least her kindness translates very well. I called it ‘oblivious kindness’ earlier, which might sound - in a way - condescending, but I think that phrase fits her quite well. She’s one of the few characters who not only don’t have to TRY to be kind, but who don’t even seem to be aware how amazing that talent is. Luna is always ready to give her friends advice or to help where she is needed. But even towards her adversaries she isn’t hateful. She doesn’t hold a grudge and she’s willing to see positive attentions where maybe their are none. Even in a situation, where others rage and scream against their situation, Luna offers nothing but kind compassion.

Maybe she more than any other characters who’ll make this list, runs at a certain danger to have other people ‘walk all over her’, so I’m very glad that she found friends who will not abuse her kindness. Maybe in this regard her unique nature helps. She doesn’t seek to please people.
