What is it with people and saying to my face that if they were in my shoes they would either kill themselves or become an alcoholic? Like how does anyone think that's a useful or appropriate thing to say
the fact that literally everyone is like “oh we all do that welcome to life” and then they turn around and say “I can’t do that, I have a disability that prevents me doing this physical thing” really pisses me off. It’s not them advocating for themselves that pisses me off, it’s the fact that they treat my disability like it’s less important than theirs
Just me rambling on about the stuff I upload on Reddit. Mostly specific communities & their reactions to stuff & how differently they react.
Okay now that I uploaded that btd 6 shitpost ship-post, I just wanna mention rq. The BTD 6 subreddit is really friggin' aggressive man. Like, super aggro.
I've only drawn for this fandom twice & the first experience was standard enough y'know, some people questioned it, most liked it. But the 2nd time I posted something, while mostly positive, had more like... toxic people in it.
Like, it's one thing to say "I don't get it." or "[Popular youtuber] isn't gonna like this/is gonna be jealous" but some just baffle me. That's fine with me, but my bafflement begins with people who like... I dunno dude. People who either take the shitpost too seriously or dudes who're just dickwads. :P
I know it's the internet & all, people are gonna be rude n' shit. But that's not really an excuse or justified reason to be a dick.
What's kinda ironic to me is that the other games I draw for (Ultrakill, Guardian Tales, Cookie Run, Monster Prom, DBFZ, etc.) are all like... nicer. I guess.
Uploading borderline/straight-up NSFW in r/ultrakill, everyone has a good laugh. Like, people are gonna be like "Me when I get you" & "May your woes be many, and your days few" but I know they're just playing around. It's like a light punch to the shoulder.
r/guardiantales has been an on/off relationship. On one hand, I do like the game, but on the other, I just haven't been that active recently. But at least the people there can be appreciative & supportive of the stuff/shitposts there.
in r/monsterprom, I was very nervous to show off my OC, but everyone was so encouraging. I felt super welcomed there.
Hell, even the rare instances I uploaded DBFZ shitposts, everyone there was pretty chill.
I just kinda wonder, why is BTD6 so hostile. From what I've heard, I wasn't the first person they've driven away. It is actually very common for artists to like... not want to upload there anymore.
