I captured this cool photo a couple of days ago before my wife and kids rolled out of bed. I just finished my meditation and strolled to the door to stare into the emerging landscape while the kettle boiled. There are so many reasons why I am grateful to be alive, and one of those reasons is the knowledge that I’m not alone on my journey of life. This was my view last week on my Saturday morning walk when I stopped and reflected on life and the changes I’ve made over the last four years. Although I look somewhat the same on the outside, I’m a completely different person. One of the best ways to open up the lines of communication with anyone, including God, is to ask questions. Asking questions is not only the easiest way to get answers, but it forces you to formulate new ideas and stretch your imagination. Some thoughts will come to you immediately, and others will occur in the process of asking, but don’t underestimate its power to influence you. I recommend you doing this before you fall asleep, but you can do it at any time you want. You may think asking God a question is easy, but have you ever tried it? I’m not talking about asking God why your life sucks or why the world always conspires against you. If you want those answers, then look at the question. I want you to ask God questions that would inspire you into action if you knew the answer. Only you know the best questions to ask, but ask, expecting that the answer will come. It may not come to you right away, but if the answer can change your life, it might be a good idea to have a little patience. It may be a day, or it may be a year, but the answer will surely come because it already exists. You have no problem jumping into your phone and typing random thoughts into google looking for answers to irrelevant questions. You’re sure the answer will show up immediately, and this instant gratification has you trapped. Don’t hesitate to ask a question to God if having the answer can transform your life. There is an intelligence that lives within you that has the answers you seek.
