Gaster was holding a few old boxes full of salvaged goods. He was about ready to wrap up his small excursion to the dump, having gathered a sufficient amount of scrap to use in his makeshift lab.
He had gathered his things, about to leave, when he noticed the soft squish of mud under boots. Someone was coming- Gaster was caught off guard. His head whipped over to the direction the noise was coming from. What was he going to do? He could hide if they were just passing through, but the odds of someone coming this far out of their way without intending to sift through the junk were not in his favor.
Gaster froze like a deer in headlights while the other monster approached. His eyes flicked around- there was nowhere to go. He was caught- maybe if he was lucky, it would be someone he didn’t know. Then he could get out and disappear again. He wouldn’t have to worry about someone figuring out he wasn’t dead- that he was just hidden in Waterfall. He couldn’t let that happen- if he started taking visitors, his parasite would endanger everyone who got too close.
For now though, all he could do was stand and wait, holding his box of junk, and hope for the best.

tbh i didn’t really ship sansby romantically up until just recently because i was more into grillster and soriel but i think they’d be absolutely adorable together???? like why didn’t i see this sooner open your eyes, Dex
