this one? she's come so close she's dancing around the edges of it. soldier boy sits beside her--checking his watch, the path out of the park and then back to the ocean that isn't too far from here. he has no idea when she decided that he was someone who needed company. but not telling her to go play hopscotch in traffic til she loses must mean he didn't mind the company. blend in? make like normal? maybe that's why he's not wearing that damn suit? opting for something that looks like the gangly queer threw his way. or yanked out of a corner of butcher's closet that wasn't full of we hang upside down pineapples in front of our cabin door vibey hawaiian print.

Incredible? Now he doesn't know about that. His adventures have been many, they have been interesting and they have hurt so fiercely he isn't even certain he can recount them. Nor if he wants to really. Now, the truth might be an absolute travesty, that is to say, she doesn't need to know about the truth. He can spin it a little bit, create something incredible out of misery.
