"The skull you gave me whispers. It says Orion Maddox seeks to reforge Tiam’el’s crystal… and wake the Dreaming Seraph."
"Darling, that sounds either apocalyptic or avant-garde."
“Please say the skull didn’t also demand a blood sacrifice.”
"If Orion’s tapping into anamnesic resonance, he could endanger all of us."
"Cool. Where do we break his fingers first?"
"The Seraph isn’t a myth. She’s dreaming and she’s hungry."
“Great. More dream logic. Can we bring a flashlight?”
“Let’s head to Windenburg. If his trail is in books, I’ll find the page.”
“What exactly are we looking for?”
“Where he is, and more importantly what he has become.”
Leslie browses the terminal.
He mutters: “Nothing on Maddox, but plenty on crystal resonance… weird.”
Rebecca checks the returns shelf.
"‘Returned: On Blood-Crystal Hybridization.’ Someone’s very interested."
Suzana reads “The Singing Stone: A Treatise on Crystal Memory and Mythical Lineage”
" Hey, there’s a book Orion wrote: “The Singing Stone”: ‘
“‘Let the dreaming remain dreaming… unless you are prepared to finish the song.’”
“Orion was a believer.”
“This was his route. He traced the fault lines of memory… searching for the Deeproot Caverns.”
Amy flips open a brittle notebook and gasps.
“Guys? I’ve got an address. Handwritten. Windslar District. Let’s evict him.”
