Did you guys know I have an Owlk OC too? I don't really draw or write about him much - but this is Kinen! He has a full reference sheet but it's super old and needs updating at some point.

He's a memorial painter for the deceased aboard The Stranger.

👻 - Someone They Don’t See Often

Mia would sigh softly, staring at the picture in her hands. It was one of her own sketches, of someone special to her. A dear friend of hers, someone far closer to being a brother than anything. The sketch was nearly flawless, an image of Kinen, who was very much like her brother, who she knew she’d see again sometime, she just didn’t know when.

Thank you so much for your ask! These questions were so fun to think on, but I ended up yapping a lot so I've popped my answers below the cut, hehe!

Feller Ranch Family

2) Who's your OCs best friend? How did they become best friends?

I'd say that Mohs has a lot of acquaintances, and considers many folks their friends - but their best friends (if we're not including Dusty!) are probably @merrydock's Lari and @kyanite-shards' Kyanite.

Lari began as a colleague, and later evolved into one of Mohs' most trusted pals due to their shared love of geology and good sense of humour. What began as excursions as work colleagues eventually turned into little adventures as friends - and Mohs considers Lari one of their closest pals, despite the constant teasing that gets thrown their way once Lari clocks onto Mohs' crush on Dusty, hehe!

Mohs and Kyanite became friends as they were both expecting their respective hatchlings together at around the same time! Mohs really struggled in the first month of their gravidity and was advised to chat to someone going through similar worries, and after a timid first meeting and some berry jam cookies they felt much more at ease knowing they had a friend at their side. I'd like to think that Andi and Pip also spent a lot of time together as young hatchlings because of their parents' friendship!

Dusty is considered a little aloof by many of the Village Crater Hearthians due to the fact that they're just not around very much. As such, they miss out on a lot of Village nuance and customs, so they can appear a little out of their depth when they do swing by. They're friendly and polite but don't have many close relationships with folks within the Crater. Instead, they're good friends with other nomadic Hearthians, such as @eruraima's Shale; and other farmers like @centaurra and @rakkigaru's Cricket Creek Siblings Ame and Tou. Saying that, I don't think they have a "best" friend. At least, not yet!

6) If your OC is in the modern day, what fantasy class would they be? Would they be a different race? (For 6 specifically, I'd like to put them in the time of the Nomai specifically!)

Mohs would be pretty similar to how they are as a Hearthian, I think! I'm sure the Nomai have something similar to the OWGS, and Mohs would be a part of that. I imagine their fear of interstellar travel would remain - they don't trust black hole warps to and from different planetary bodies, thank you very much, so they would likely remain on their Clan's Vessel to carry out analyses of samples alongside record keeping of their finds and theories.

I haven't found a specific name that they would have as a Nomai, but it would likely be a plant from the Sedum or Stonecrop genus!

Dusty is a little more difficult to place as a Nomai. I made them because I specifically wanted a rancher character - someone who works and travels with animals out in the wild; and the Nomai don't seem to be a race that lends themself to that kind of lifestyle? Perhaps they could work in agriculture or animal husbandry? I could kind of see them as a risk taker - first on the scene when there's a potentially dangerous creature that's impeding an expedition and requires a more hands-on approach as opposed to theory based observations?

22) Fight or Flight? Are they a lover or a fighter?

This one is pretty easy - in times of danger Mohs' flight response is kicking in. They are neither big nor strong, but they are very quick on their feet, so would make use of that to escape a threatening situation.

Saying that, if Pip was in danger and there was no way for Mohs to remove their hatchling from said danger, they would fight tooth and nail for their baby. Don't underestimate protective Mohs mode, hehe!

Dusty is a fighter. They have good instincts and are well versed in survival situations. Also pretty handy with various tools that could cause damage if needs be.

Lilin & Kinen

30) My OC and your OC are friends. How do they respond?

I think Kinen and Lilin would get on very well! Both of them are quiet and gentle, and have that air of soft melancholy about them that I think would make them appreciate one another's company. I can imagine them sharing tea or quietly working their craft together in the dusklight. I don't think they would talk very much, they have that understanding of sometimes there are no words that can fill a comfortable silence, and instead enjoy each others' quiet company.
