Finalizing character designs for a little story idea. Tibby and friends, I've got one major character left to design. Here are a few details about each of them:

Tibby's full name is Tiberius Pinescratch. He has a brother Grim who I haven't designed yet. Tibby hates water and can't swim. He loves tuna and romantic movies.

Rey is a thief and general mischief-maker who doesn't play by the rules. She stores things in her cap, sleeves, and tail. She loves the smell and taste of pine needles. She has three children, collectively called the "Reykins".

King Royal is beloved, but some are beginning to doubt his ability to lead. He spends a lot of time sleeping and making delicious soups. His staff may possess certain magical abilities, though Royal hasn't figured them out.

Juniper doesn't want to be a princess. She wants to participate in the annual Ice Claw skating tournament with Tibby and Grim. She loves meringue.

I drew a couple of pieces in a way that evokes arcade cabinet artwork. That's the general look I'm going for with these characters.

His way of love isn’t loud, it’s quiet… at least most times it is.

It’s paper roses, sitting at your door, small and delicate but never going to wilt. He poured hours into making each one, and he’d always said it was worth it to see your smile.

It’s taking you to bed after you stayed up too late and fell asleep on the couch. Holding you close as he carries you back to bed, adoring the feeling of your warmth in his arms, tucking you under the covers so you won’t get cold… trying to adjust so you won’t get too warm either.

It’s little notes he writes throughout the day, sticking them to things. Sometimes it’s a stupid joke written on your lunchbox, other times it’s a reminder to drink water on your door.

It’s doing a random task you don’t like. The dishes? He’ll handle them, don’t worry. The laundry? Fear not, he’ll take care of them! He’d do anything for you if it meant getting to see a smile, even the softest one.

It’s sitting in silence too, no words needing to be spoken, both doing your own thing, though his head resting against your shoulder, arm wrapped around your waist. He’d never force you into them, always keeping his grip loose so you could slip out if you didn’t want them.

That is Kings love for the most part, quiet little things, just to see you smile.
