I'm convinced that owning dachshunds fundamentally changes something in your brain. It's a chemical difference in the ability to recognize dogs.

Does a poodle owner excitedly point at a poodle going, “look!! It's a poodle!!”? No. Lab owners? Bernese mountain dogs? Alaskan Klee Kai? NO.

It's only dachshunds. Because to us, like- THAT is a dog. Other dogs are still dogs but they're like. Like an entirely different species. Dachshunds are our gods and I cannot make it stop.
