Never thought I'd actually be making this, as I had no idea about catching floats just 48h ago, but this is making me very happy!

Chinook Salmon also go through some color changes during their life! When they're young, they have parr marks on their sides, ideal for camouflage. Just before migrating to the sea, they lose these marks and get the characteristic dark backs and light bellies of the species. While living in the ocean, they're blue-green on top, silvery on the sides and white on their bellies, with black spots on the upper half of their bodies. After they swim all the way back up the rivers to spawn, just before reproducing, they become olive brown, red or purple-ish. All Chinook Salmon die after spawning, becoming a valuable source of energy and nutrients into the river ecosystem, contributing to the survival of the future newly hatched Salmon!
