T4T kingcho do you hear me chat
Mango Tango is someone who already experienced how absolutely TRAUMATIC it is to lose your cisnormative raison d'etre, as a mother who lost her child. How much grief there is, how much guilt, how easy it is to go down a spiral trying to cling onto what you lost before something breaks. How something NEEDS to break for you to finally feel like you deserve/can control/are comfortable in your own skin.
The Chosen No One is someone currently experiencing that absolute destruction of the self now. Names and powers ripped away, dismembered from the cisnormative role of being an aggressive weapon, a fighter, a violent man. Now facing the fress fallout of 'what even am i, what the hell can I even do?'
Mango went through this already. His answer to 'what even am I, what the hell can I even do?' was to try and cling onto his motherhood, and avenge his son. It's a solution that caused a lot of pain. Things EVENTUALLY worked out, but only because he had people around him who affirmed his transgenderism (before he even knew it consciously) and someone who encouraged him to *stop* digging his grave and *stop* following a path of vengeance (that being Purple)
Do you see where Im going with this.
Mango offering One support and gentility, because he KNOWS how awful it can be to suffer alone. To grieve the person you once were, the person you think you are supposed to be. He helps her through her grief, her vulnerability, helps her have an easier time than Mango himself ever did.
