Not the prettiest of swatches, but it’s a satisfying swatch! I love the look and the idea and frugality of a scrap blanket, especially the 10 stitch knitted ones, so decided to check out if there was a 10 stitch crochet version. Indeed one was waiting for me to try, I hated it (sorry patient lady who translated it from the knitting pattern) it was the infernal mitred turn at the end of a row, I couldn’t concentrate on @emmerdale or @coronationstreet ! Too much counting, checking diagrams, and much missed tv dialogue! So this is my first go, for now quite ugly, it’s just a first go remember dear insta reader! It’s done using scraps of dk yarns which vary in diameter so it’s not quite right yet! I shall be back later with a better swatch using just one brand of dk yarn which sadly is not scrap! At the moment my frugal scrap blanket is tantalisingly out of reach as a concept, but hey Ho, I will have a faux scrap tv safe, easy blanket pattern that I can make up without losing valuable plot lines! Keep tuned in if you too need an easy ride tv friendly scrap buster of a crochet blanket! Today I watched the delightful Fiona from @yarn_etc showing some great projects and a fab tip re using up your sock wool, well worth a watch for that tip alone! Caught up on @unicornpuffsandrainbows prompt message through #yarnfriendsrock. Today my favourite stitch is bobbles! Just edging a star lap blanket using two colour combos from a @kingcoleltd riot ball! So all in all, a great day mental health wise, nearly accomplished another finished project, kept cosy inside and ignored the snow, ably assisted by the very lovely but critical Lily the cat. I wouldn’t want her any other way, she really is the best overseer when it comes to quality control!
