Kensei just scoffs without saying much of anything in response. But instead a hint of a grin curling one side of his lips, he was more than used to Shinji's ways and he knew it worked vice versa as well.
' comfortably buzzed sounds more my speed. ' he remarks nonchalantly, his responsible nature taking over even if this whole drinking thing was his idea.
"Y'know, you and Kyoraku got a real /daddy/ vibe goin' on these days." - kingdomcollapsing
@kingdomcollapsing
“I-I’m sorry?”
“You see Kyoraku and I as father figures?” That couldn’t be right. While Shinji was younger than them he was by no means a boy. They hadn’t even known the younger man in a time where they could have left such a paternal mark. With a bemused chuckle, Jushiro took note of the mischievous quality in Shinji's smile, wondering just when the punchline would be delivered.
slAMS a ‘ mistletoe ’ RIGHT IN HERE, and yeah, we all know it isn't by accident - kingdomcollapsing
this was one of those traditions about christmas ( a baffling time of year in and of itself for aizen who never quite understood it beyond the fact that there was good food and drink to be had by one and all; his gifts were sparse and selective, but some people always received something from him; namely, gin and shinji. ) that he rather liked. it’d been a silly thing to simply indulge in, hanging up such decorations, but aizen did find it rather nice feeling a sense of inclusiveness with the division at times like this. whatever the case, however, his normally perceptive mind was currently soused to some degree in alcohol ( courtesy of being encouraged to drink by his captain. ) and what normally would’ve been seen and avoided was, in fact, not so avoided tonight. shinji had been the one to point out the doorway he was leaning on was decorated with a sprig of mistletoe and had grinned at him in a suggestive fashion. and aizen? well, he’d never been one to turn down a challenge. he chose to haul his captain close and dipped down to kiss him, fingers pressing at those thin wrists while his larger body tucked closer to shinji’s, pressing him into the frame of the door. only laughter from nearby got him lifting away, normally clear eyes of rich brown blinking slowly before he smiled in sloppy fashion, cheeks flushed with affection and booze alike.
❝ merry christmas, shinji, ❞ he murmured, voice low. a rare thing, dropping that title. and he saw the befuddled blink in response from the older man as he tried to respond. good enough.
hey, be truthful, how good is shinji REALLY in bed?
My muse will be answering questions with 100% honesty for the next 5 asks! 2/5
--- “On A scale of 1 to 10? Probably an 9, 9 and a half.” He snickers. He wonders who would be interested in information like this. “He’s a lot of fun.” Perhaps that was also because they were such great friends, and they were very aware of what it was they were doing. Just sex, no strings attached. It made things so much easier when there were no expectations.
“The only reason he does not receive a perfect 10 is because it would stroke his ego too much and his head is already too big. Besides.. There’s always room for improvement~.” Though he supposes he and Shinji are pretty near perfectly matched.
He's ringing her for a catch-up chat, and he KNOWS the reception between the soul society and the world of the living is reliable so there's NO excuse for her to not pick up. In fact, if she DOESN'T pick up, he's going to spam her continuously with texts until she does. It wasn't like he was /paying/ for them, after all. - kingdomcollapsing to hiyori
Ignores the ringing once she realises the number is from that stupid Shinji.
“Dumbass. He’ll give up eventually.”
She’s torn between the hope of him giving up, as well as the joy that he does remember his old freak of a friend.
Hiyori hates that Shinji still likes to keep in touch. Why pretend to be a part of his life when she wasn’t going to be in it any longer? She didn’t want to see Shinji or talk to him. She didn’t want to see him leading his own squad, doing amazing things, looking like he had settled into his life.
No… she knew he belonged. She knew he was strong and incredible and it was a much better fit for him to lead the fifth division again, rather than rot away at that dumpy, Visored warehouse. But she didn’t want to see him… because she knew it’d make it real.
Make it real that he was much happier in this new life without her - as he should be. He was her friend, despite their horrific fights and their tendency to call each other names. But underneath all of that, there was history and genuine affection. She wanted him to be happy.
And to be happy, she was certain he couldn’t keep calling her. He should move on like Kirio and forget about her existence entirely.
Maybe those chocolates were a mistake.
“What the fuck!” Her phone wouldn’t stop vibrating. “DUMBASS!”
She was about to grind the device in her bare hands when she angrily opened the stupid, whiny texts from Shinji.
“What a fucking drama queen.”
And she sucked at texting. She couldn’t quite get her anger across in the written word. No, letters were for pansies like Aizen.
Hiyori glared at her phone, swearing she’ll drop it inside Ryuuken’s nostril one day cause he was a shitty human that deserved pain too, before accepting his call.
“WHAT THE FUCK DUMBASS?!!!!! DON’T YOU HAVE YOUR HAIR TO SHAMPOO OR SOMETHING YOU BALDY?!!!!! STOP BOTHERING ME CAUSE I’M REALLY FUCKING BUSY OVER HERE!!!”

"It's jazz." He explained with a quick glance over his shoulder at his questioning lieutenant, and /oh/, if this experience didn't seem so /eerily/ similar t one he'd had a hundred years prior. Hopefully /this/ lieutenant wouldn't be inclined to /stab/ him in the back ten years down the track. "It's music from the world of the living." -kingdomcollapsing
@kingdomcollapsing
Jazz.
She like this “jazz”, the music was so very different to what she was used to but it sounded so… fun! The notes seemed to bounce and skip in chaotic symphony, filling the young woman with a giddiness with every note that encircled her. The music reminded her so much of her captain: smooth but deliriously disordered in a way that made complete sense - it was thrilling and mysterious all at once!
“I really like this music. How do you dance to jazz?” She beamed, swaying slightly to the rhythm.
@kingdomcollapsing continuing from [ x ]
“It’s a human Christmas tradition.” He explained, answering the silent question he knew she was putting together in her mind as she stared upwards, brows slightly furrowed in confusion, at the little green and red plant sticky-taped to the top of the doorframe. He couldn’t blame her; had he not known the purpose of the foliage he too would have been wondering exactly why someone had seen fit to decorate the doorway with such a sparse dot of colour, and in such a tacky manner too. “When two people stand underneath it, they’re s’pposed t’kiss.”
And then, with his ( rather fleeting ) explanation for why he was about to do what he was going to do in place, the captain offered his lieutenant a boyish grin, leaned in, and planted a quick, chaste kiss to the young woman’s cheek.
“Merry Christmas, Momo-chan. Take th’rest of th’day off, yeah?”
Her captain’s brief explanation of the strange plant left her with lingering questions as the girl looked between the small foliage above them and the lanky man before her.
“...supposed to kiss?” She blinked up at her captain (why was he looking at her like that?). Her thoughts were interrupted when the blond leaned down and pecked her cheek, leaving the girl in blushing, stunted silence as the man sauntered off.
