Bandai Japan Announces Kingdom Hearts Tamagotchi
And just like that, another Tamagotchi Nano! Bandai Japan has just announced via their official Twitter account the new Kingdom Hearts Tamagotchi. To help celebrate the 20th anniversary of Disney’s Kingdom Hears they’ve partnered up with Bandai to develop a Kingdom Hearts Tamagotchi. Kingdom Hearts is a series of action role-playing games which features various Disney, Pixar, and Square Enix characters.
There are two shells available, the first one is named Dark Mode which is based on the image of Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary. The second shell is named Light Mode which features pearly white shell, blue pattern around the screen, and gold accent colors. Both shells feature identical programming.
The Kingdom Hearts Tamagotchi features 20 characters such as Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy and more! By raising your Tamagotchi you’ll even unlock new more characters! Throughout the day you’ll also see Kingdom Hearts scenes, and these will actually vary based on the care you provide to your Tamagotchi. The meal you can feed your Tamagotchi is paopu fruit, and the snack is sea salt ice cream. Per usual for the Tamagotchi Nano, there will be three mini games, Let’s Raise the Stone, Attack Pink Agaricus, and Press the Button Phil tells you!
A first for the Tamagotchi Nano series, there will be a special event held where fans will vote to determine the last two characters to be added! Voting will start on the special page from Bandai on Monday, March 28th 2022 which is the 20th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts, through Monday, April 11th 2022 and the winners will be announced on April 12th to finalize the 20 character lineup.
The characters on the ballot include Solider, Large Boy, Red Nocturne, Darkball, White Mushroom, Dark Side, Guard Armor, Trickmaster, Parasite Cage, and Phantom. Bandai has provided pixel sprites on the voting page as well, so you know exactly what they will look like on the Tamagotchi! You can vote up to once per day, and the reset will occur at midnight.
Priced at ¥2,530 including tax, preorders are now available through May 5th, 2022 on Premium Bandai Japan. Orders are scheduled to be shipped in October of 2022.
