Lonely Road In A Fog Shrouded Forest
A lonely road cuts through the fog in a gloomy forest.
More from today - I loved these little blue flowers planted en masse (Ceratostigma plumbaginoides, Blue Leadwood).
Lunch was at a tearooms that had been run by the same lady for the past 38 years. Two menu options - soup and a hot bread roll, or scones with jam and cream. It was all amazing and very peaceful.
I picked up a bottle of highly-recommended and locally made botanical non-alcoholic spirit (meant to be a gin alternative). Mainly because sometimes I just feel like having a little fancy drink that’s not juice or a smoothie.
We also found a sign to a flower farm, and drove up a long muddy driveway to a fresh flower stand. These were the dahlias I loved most. There wasn’t a cash box, there was a QR code to pay which was tricky with poor signal. Later on there was a roadside stand selling boxes of strawberries for $5 - they’re seconds but there’s at least a couple of kilograms of usable strawbs to make jam with tonight.
After all the fresh air and sunshine and laughs, I’m exhausted now.
