Literally this entire conversation is like the effect of people like Joey in action.

People thinking it’s okay to hoard sensitive marine animals like they’re toys because they look cool. People thinking it’s okay to keep monster fish, and even then in completely barren, tiny tanks. People thinking any of this constitutes good animal care and then going on to mistreat their own animals in the same way.

It’s a vicious cycle.

also i found out recently that joey aka king of diy literally lives like 20 minutes from me!!! thats actually so insane because nobody lives in nova scotia let alone a well known youtuber!!! he literally have more subs than the population of our entire province lol

 im just amazed because someone else lives in this shit hole and he has really sick aquascapes + that massive aquarium in the middle of the room~!! like WOW that could be ME maybe

I’ve been a subscriber to Joey aka KingofDIY on youtube for years, and for the longest time I’ve looked past his stocking because the building tutorials are honestly fantastic. Then I watched his saltwater video yesterday about how he plans to stock that saltwater predator tank and I was so disappointed that I couldn’t stay subscribed any longer. I was already concerned about four arowanas and five freshwater stingrays in one tank: then came the rainbowfish, the cichlids, and now I just can’t do it.

I don’t know what it is about youtube fame that changes people but it’s a trend I wish would stop.
