New Video: ELARA HAD A BLOCKAGE (ON NEW YEARS DAY)

In today's video, I go over what happened on New Years Day when Elara (my 3 year old ferret) had a blockage. 

DISCLAIMER: This video is a retelling of how I handled an emergency situation with one of my ferrets. I know there will be people who watch this video and disagree with how I handled the situation. That's fine. We all handle situations differently depending on dozens of factors. HAVING SAID THAT, this video is NOT meant as a fail safe guide for every ferret owner to use in an emergency situation or as a substitute for veterinary care. Though I share information, this video is not intended to be a guide. The intentions of this video is to educate people on the reality of emergency situations while opening discussions that help to destigmatize them. You ARE NOT a bad ferret owner if you end up in an emergency situation. Emergency situations are a GUARANTEE for any ferret owner, and if you're planning to or do own ferrets, there will come a time that you are put into one. Please do your research and be prepared.

Can someone explain the drama around emzotic?

What happened? I just caught wind that people are pissed at her, and I can't find anything substantial about how this started or why? I know her horn bill Grinchy recently passed (he was a wild caught bird she decided to rescue a few years ago, she knew he was never gonna be able to adjust 100% to being a captive pet and has consistently told her viewers not to support buying wild caught animals because they have a high likelihood of dying cuz you will never have their full med history and may not know to look for underlying problems). She also had a few miss steps in some recent videos with supply's and fish she's never worked with b4. But... she is human, and encourages ppl to talk to her when she inadvertently spreads misinformation. I don't typically get invested in drama, but I see her as one of the more responsible pettubers and I just want to know what went wrong so I can form my own opinion on the matter. I don't want to jump to conclusions b4 knowing the full story

my son turns 1 tomorrow so i made this video and it may be the greatest thing i’ve ever created

u kno what i have been watching pet youtube and especially aquarium hobbyists for several months now and im gonna talk about it

i really really want to get a fish tank someday but i dont wanna fuck it up! and also most cool fish are either marine and/or hard to take care of and/or require a huge setup so thats kind of discouraging.

i guess my first step would be a betta + some glofish [not sure which specific variety but i like how bright they are!] in a 20 ish gallon. 

my mid tier dream fish are black moor goldfish [id say the black butterfly telescopes that solidgoldaquatics had but i imagine theyre hard to get] except the tank they need are soooo big!! 

then my favorite of all time are just fucking eels, especially morays. my favorite one is the banana peel!! they look so derpy at all times. i love them !!!!! but they need like 125+ gallons for the cool/max derp ones so i doubt it will ever happen. :(

Unsubscribing from clint’s reptiles

I just watched his video on spider ball pythons (SBP) and although a part of me thinks there are more arguments to be had based on the amount of breeders that are willing to defend the morphs, I thought all of his arguments were weak.

First of all, he started the video with a “facts don’t care about your feelings” type of argument that send me off right away and “this video is not for the close minded people” which I think it’s kinda manipulative but let us continue.  

One of his arguments was that the snake doesn’t show signs of being stressed or unhappy but (?) neither do pugs and other brachycephalic breeds yet here we are. 

He brought up the case that a lot of people are, rightfully, concerned whether or not the morph is suffering and I think that’s something we, indeed, should be concerced about but he’s response was that, to answer it, we should put ourselves in the shoes of the snake but since we wouldn’t even want to be normal snakes, the less we would want to be this morph. And I don’t know what argument is more idiotic if this one or the next one. 

First, I just want to clarify that I, myself, am not autistic nor do I know anyone that is, so if I’m wrong (and if somebody is actually reading this) please let me know. 

He said that a lot of people compare SBPs with autistic people and the comparition didn’t seem so far-off to him given that he had a lot of autistic friends that, despite their condition, all of them had some kind of special gifts (maybe hinting at things like photographic memory, not quite sure) that would make them not want to be “normal” if it meant they would have to give up that gift. 

Again, I haven’t met any autistic person but it seemed off, especially because there were some comments from people with other illnesses that made it clear they wouldn’t choose to have their condition if given the choice and also that he didn’t seem to acknowledge that there are different levels (or types?) of autism. 

So, yeah, I unsubscribed.
