#KINGS: TASK TWO — PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE.

PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE... write about one of them in whatever way you wish. Self-para? Sure. Journal entry? Why not. Maybe a dream about the future? Was there a time in your character’s life that something happened and they’ll never forget it? How do they feel in the present? **Please note that this is completely optional. We will never force anyone to participate in something they don’t want to or simply don’t have the time to do. You’re also free to do one, two or even all three if you so desire.

#KINGS: TASK ONE — CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

The reason for this task is to get to know your character better, or to build them more. It also helps for other people to know your character better as well! This is completely optional.

01: CHARACTER DETAILS.

Joseph Finnegan Chang. 24.

02: LIKES / DISLIKES.

Joseph likes (see: loves) glitter. A lot. Mainly because it’s pretty, that is. Video games got him through the whole divorce deal so he likes those too (especially choice-based ones like The Walking Dead and Until Dawn, but also Mortal Combat and Skyrim so??).

He dislikes marriage, but that’s just because he’s bitter as fuck. Christmas, both because it’s so busy and also because of his parents/the divorce thing. There is also dogs, puns he didn’t make himself and strawberry flavored ice cream.

03: UPBRINGING.

It wasn’t too horrible. Father Chang put a lot of pressure on him. After the divorce, things weren’t too good either.

04: FAMILY.

There are no other siblings. Just him and his twin.

05. APPEARANCE.

Hair slightly shorter in the sides than on the top, often spiked. Signature colored streaks (currently pink, but that’s changeable). He’s 5′10′’. He often wears nail polish (pink, dark blue or black) and sometimes also eyeliner. He is a big fan of black skinny jeans and such jeans goes well with simple t-shirts, so he does that a lot. Occasional leather jackets and hoodies.

06. FAVORITE QUOTE.

“I’m proud of you, son.” - Michael Chang

If he had it in a text, he would print it and hang it up on his wall. Making father Chang proud is his greatest achievement so far.

07. FAVORITE SONG.

"Somewhere” from West Side Story. He just gets super emotional whenever it’s on and he’s very emotional about it.

08. RELATIONSHIPS.

Okay, so Joseph hasn’t had a lot of relationships. A lot of people in high school thought he was very very homosexual, which wasn’t the case, so a lot of chicks were afraid to go out with him and homosexual dudes in his high school weren’t ready to handle the big mess that is Joseph Chang™.

Then college came around and he met Delilah Blake. Within the first two weeks they were sort of in a relationship but not really. They kissed a lot. And went on a lot of dates. And they were each others’ firsts. But they were very on-off and she also sort of had a thing going on with some Cedric dude. Anyway, they officially officially got together when college was about to end and pretty soon they moved in together at King’s Terrace, Boston. And a little way down the road, they were engaged and about to get married. Like, literally about to get married. But time passed and when she didn’t show it was kind of embarrassing to stand at the end of the aisle. There was a note on her bed reading something about Cedric and Joseph is forever bitter that he was left at the alter.

09. HEADCANONS.

Joseph were super committed to his relationship and it’s still rather recent, so he’s not completely out of the mindset yet.

He is blaming exactly that on the fact that he’s starting to really want kids.

If he hadn’t settled on becoming an interior designer, Joseph would have loved to work with kids: probably as a kinder garden teacher.

Someone once dared him to eat nothing but lasagna for a month. Now lasagna sort of makes him want to throw up.

01: CHARACTER DETAILS.

Grayson Anthony Laurent. He’s 23 years old. 

02: LIKES / DISLIKES.

BASIC LIKES: Sunsets, beaches, boardwalks, all black outfits.

ART: Vincent van Gogh, Berthe Morisot, Andy Warhol, Leonardo da Vinci, Claude Monet, pretty much all art.

MUSIC: Instrumental pieces. He has a strong connection to Mozart and Tohaikovsky, though.

BASIC DISLIKES: Spiders, bees, being disappointed, conflict/confrontation, people that litter. 

03: UPBRINGING.

His upbringing was pretty decent. Grayson was fortunate to be born with loving parents and a rather close family. They had enough money that they were basically set for life from the day they were conceived. 

04: FAMILY.

Ramona (29 year old sister).

Griffin (25 year old brother).

Ashton (19 year old sister).

05. APPEARANCE.

Grayson stands at 6′3″. He’s generally seen in a suit due to his job, and tends to wear his hair slicked back as well. If he’s not working, he’s normally wearing sweatpants or basketball shorts and a t-shirt. Night outs are different, however. He’ll wear a button down shirt (red or navy, sometimes purple) and a pair of black skinny jeans. Shoe-wise, he wears Sperry’s, Burberry Oxfords or Vans.

06. FAVORITE QUOTE.

07. FAVORITE SONG.

Requiem in D minor if he’s simply listening to music. His go-to shower song as of late is Beware by Big Sean. He thinks he can rap (he can’t). 

08. RELATIONSHIPS.

The only important “relationship” Grayson has really been with was Athena. He didn’t have strong feelings for anyone else he was with aside from that, and tends not to count them. 

09. HEADCANONS.

Grayson is normally at work or in his room. He prefers to keep to himself on most days. If he’s in his room, he’s watching Netflix or attempting to cook.

He’s fluent in French and is working on Italian & Russian. He also plays the piano and violin. 

He has a horrible addiction to coffee. Most of the cafes around King’s Terrace and his work know him by name, and know his coffee order. 

Grayson’s favorite thing in the world is art. That’s why he works where he does. He doesn’t plan on releasing his own art, but he does want to own his own art gallery one day.

He really likes whiskey, especially whiskey sours. He tends to over-do it, though, and could probably be considered a borderline alcoholic. 

He flees at the slightest chance of having to confront someone or deal with something. It’s an automatic thing and while he tries not to, it happens anyway.
