"Look, I don't care that the hotel is booked-" The words were drawn into a sharp hiss as Hayner allowed his backpack to hit the floor. "I refuse to share a room with you."
Running his fingers into the red marks scattered across his arms, he took a few moments to curse the weight of his bag; maybe Olette had been right when she had suggested buying a slightly bigger one. But whatever, there was nothing he could do about it now- although, he could possibly use his own bag as a weapon, if he really had to. With the way Seifer was glaring at him, Hayner was half tempted to do so...
Before Seifer could beat him to it, Hayner wrapped his fingers around the doorknob. "You can just sleep out here, I mean, it ain't like anyone would tell ya anythin' if you did. They'd be too scared of you. See, problem solved."

“A little birdy told me, that his little camo sporting birdy friend told him....”
“You’re whipped as fuck, so what’s up with that?”

There's a specific part of his room that is always illuminated by sunlight. From morning to dawn; the chair that's been positioned against one of the lavished walls is soaked in warm light. Hayner has taken a liking to it, and so he makes it his daily goal to rest upon it at least a few minutes a day.
A few minutes- being Prince of an uprising Kingdom had its downfalls.
Hayner was always busy, always on the move, constantly swarmed by documents that needed signing, issues that needed solving and by the end of it all, he was exhausted. His tired body would melt against the comfortable cushion of the velvet chair, as he relished in the soothing sunlight streaming from the window.
Sometimes he was able to stare down at the knights as they went about their days and daily tasks. They'd either patrol the lower grounds or rush through the stone pathways in attempts to reach urgent destinations, no matter what it was they did, Hayner usually found the sight of his loyal men comforting. It meant he was able to sit back (even if it was for a few minutes) and relax. The castle was save, and so was the Kingdom.
Though he was well aware of how unprofessional it appeared, Hayner couldn't help but doze off; it wasn't like his chambers were approached without a warning anyway. But on this particular day, postponed duties had slipped his mind and so he more or less jumps out of his skin when the doors to his room are thrown open.
Head snapping upwards, vivid brown eyes lock onto the approaching figure. He would've been furious, simply livid and expressed his anger without hesitation if wasn't for his peeking curiosity. The castle was far from small but Hayner had managed to memorize every face, every man that served under his rule, but this face...This face was new.
The man wore the troops armor, and yet, Hayner could not recall seeing him before. He could only assume his father had gone behind his back and recruited new members; something Hayner found extremely foolish, not to mention, dangerous. Why the King preferred strength over familiarity, Hayner would never understand but he was wise to hold his tongue on diplomatic issues. His time to take the Kingdom as his would come, for now, patience was the key.
Besides the armor, the second thing Hayner noticed was the scar running down the man's forehead. Quirking an eyebrow at it, he watched as he was greeted with a low bow and then, silence.
"I assume general rules were explained to you, yet, you come in, uninvited and unannounced...Heh, how stupid. But, consider me amuse."
With a wave of his hand, Hayner carried on. "But that alone runs thin...State your business."
