Thorntree, also known as the Witherspoon House, in Kingstree, South Carolina. Built in 1749, it is the oldest surviving home in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina. During the Revolutionary War, Colonel Banastre Tarleton made this his encampment while in the area, thus saving the house from being burned. It is now a house museum.
