One little angel 😇 tucked in with his badger for a nap after a bath. Today was a good day for Oshie as far as his dry FIP symptoms go. Tiny fighter that he is, it made me proud to know him. 🥊😼🥊 And then, there's his brother Eller, ensuring we can still smile and laugh. This is Oshie, one of our current foster cats. We welcomed him and his brother in June at 1.5 months old. He was sweet, brave and had a little sneeze. Over the months with us, he'd continue to be brave and sweet but never entirely well. . Last week we learned he might have Feline Infectious Peritonitis or FIP. Sadly, this disease is fatal in both wet and dry forms and a possible treatment is going through FDA approval. For now, we'll make Oshie comfortable, warm and loved until he's ready to rest. . This is a devastating disease that strikes very young and otherwise healthy cats. Lethargy, anemia, jaundice, inflammation, fever and organ fluid buildup are just a few of the symptoms. . Until a cure is found, making life comfortable for these little fighters is all that can be done. So please, hug your cats, donate pet food to food banks if possible and support research to help our fuzzy friends. .
