What are the reaction of Barian emperor+ astral when they realize Yuuma is the King of Light and Shadow? As former leaders themselves, realizing that this excitable good hearted idiot they all love is, as a matter of fact, a big shot King.

hmm I'll be honest I hadn't really gotten that far to thinking about it, but I definitely think shock would be involved! The Astral and Barian worlds have considered themselves outside the jurisdiction of the King for a very very long time and most of the Kings have left them to their own devices except when it threatens other dimensions for just as long, so the Barian Emperors haven't had a whole lot of interaction with the line of Kings, but they definitely would know of them. It would certainly be a shock to all of them to learn that the person they've only vaguely thought about as some distant, super powered being that they mostly ignore is actually as close to home as Yuma is! The idea of Yuma having so much power would also be terrifying to all of them lol XD

hey y’all i am finally going to start working on kingsverse proper and not just dance around the canon with my halloween fics lol. to that end, i need to decide where i’m going to start, and i want to make a lil poll to see what people might be most interested in seeing.

full disclosure, i might not follow the results of the poll, but i will definitely use it as a sort of interest check. i plan to start working on my chosen project during nanowrimo, so i can start posting in december or january. So! without further ado:

Anyway, I want to ask, can you tell anything about the ygo King Verse your planning?? Please?? Even just the base concept, world building or raw parts you want in? I'm so curious!!!!!

I can absolutely tell you the basic premise without giving too much away!

Basically, KingsVerse (i've had to call it that instead kingverse because APPARENTLY, stephen king fans are using the latter and i didn't know until like. a year ago), is my cohesive yugioh universe, in which every single yugioh series takes place in the same universe, on the same timeline. This is all connected by the presence of the King, a human with an extremely powerful soul who appears once a generation.

The King's job is to maintain the balance between the twelve dimensions, between humanity and the Shadow Folk (duel monster spirits). As mentioned before, one King is born into each generation, which means that an older King is usually available to mentor the new King before they take over. You don't have to die to pass on the King's Soul, you just have to lose a duel to your successor, so previous Kings will often stick around with their successors to help them out here or there.

I actually did start putting together a wiki for relevant things to this universe, though it's pretty bare bones right now lol. I think I saw you go through all my Halloween fics so you already know that (almost) all of them take place in the KingsVerse (Incidence is the only one that does not), but my GX nextgen series, Yu-Gi-Oh! RED, does as well! I've also made a few worldbuilding posts about how dimensions are set up in this universe.

I have...copious notes and plans to write "main-line" KingsVerse stories in nearly all of yugioh series lol.

who would you cast as carrie?

i don’t actually care enough about carrie (shes one of my least favourite SKU protags.) to have an actual facecast for her but somebody like shannon purser. carrie was bullied for everything about her, she just wouldn’t be a thin, pretty girl
