Perth Natthakan Kunchayawanat in a Kinnaree inspired outfit
A winged creature based on a kinnara or kinnaree, basically with bird legs and a tail and wings growing from her hips.
Chakrabhand Posayakrit Kinnaree Dancer Art
Kinnaree / Kinnara / Kinnari
Mythological creature from both Hindu and Buddhist texts.
In Thailand they are depicted as fair women with birdlike lower halves and the ability to fly.
Manora / Manohara is a famous Kinnaree and a heroine of the jataka tales.
Her story is very similar to the ones where a man steals a woman's swan feathers or seal skin and takes her for his wife.
In this version, Manora is usually captured by a hunter and gifted to a prince.
Manora does fall in love with her husband but has her own tribulations with an evil royal councilor which causes her to fly away from her husband but they will eventually reunite.

Patreon wanted more Thai stuff so here's a Thai harpy! They're called Kinnaree.
Originated from Indian lore, they‘re half human, half bird, but sometimes depicted as full human with wings, live in the Himmapan forest. Appear in Thai dancing, art, sculptures, are a symbol of elegance and beauty.
I nearly drew her more feral lmaooo
SO, the story is some dude named Ilraj entered Shiva’s forbidden area. So him, along with his homies, was cursed to become women. Then some time later, an ascetic found them and was like “damn girl, all yous so fine”, then turned them all into Kinnarees. Then was like “hold up, ima getchu some husbands”, transformed some dudes, who are then Kinnorn (male Kinnarees).
It is the weirdest story I translated from wiki lol No one really hears many stories of em, only knowing that they’re pretty bird women lmaoooo
