Because of all the PAIN inflicted upon by THESE AWFUL/WONDERFUL PEOPLE, I thought I'd dig out my own headcanon:

When Bruce cuts Jason's neck with the Batarang, it leaves a scar. Even though he has worse marks on his body after his youth spent crime-fighting and has no shame in them, he is extremely adamant about hiding this scar. This is why he wears high collar shirts and coats, so he doesn't have to be reminded of when he truly lost Bruce.
