I Thought So!
New semester starts and here in room 107, Yumeko unpacking her stuff alone since Mary arrive later than expected. The dorm door swing open, reveling Kira, the student council. Silent, just stand by the door. Yumeko smiles, still not facing the person who open the door. "Mary would be so pissed if you keep doing that." Kira, still standing there "And you're not?" Yumeko just smile, and that one of the reason why Kira wants to get to know Yumeko Kawamoto or Jabami now.
"You've done early." Yumeko put her last stuff in her drawer and turn to look at her guest. "I've got help." "Let me guest. House pet?" Yumeko just smiles, knowing what Kira would do. "You can say that. Why don't you find one? I bet Ryan willing be one without gambling. Right?" Kira let out a small chuckle sounds like a huff.
Yumeko sit slowly on her bed and asking Kira to do the same. "Why keep standing there? I have a chair if you didn't notice." Kira looks at the chair and then Yumeko. "I have boundary." Yumeko just let out a small laugh and Kira looks at her intently. "So, what's make you come all the way here? President Kira-san?"
"Mind you that I no longer held the president title so, let it go." Kira's body shift, remembering what happened at the council party last semester. She felt down, hurt, back stab, unfair you name it until she's been thinking to drop out and move away from her family but she already made a promise. A promise to see her partner next semester and here she is, in her partner room. "Also, to welcome you."
Yumeko pulls her chair out, starring into each other, insisting Kira to sit. "Sit, Kira-san." Kira sit, eyes still on Yumeko. "Lipstick still blue I see."
"Since my first lipstick. People can say their opinion, I don't care."
"Its suits you. Really. Not me though. Not that I try it but after the umm, incident, your's kinda sticks to my lips." Yumeko tries to look anywhere other than Kira.
"Just say that you kissed me." Kira said looking at Yumeko. "It happened. Can't change the history."
Yumeko looking at Kira "I'm sorry. I panic-"
"Don't be. Like I said, it happened. As in past tense." Kira cuts her words. "Just worry the little head of yours about our future."
This time Yumeko cuts Kira's sentence. "Our future? Do you want me to kiss you? again?" Kira starts to feel awkward and try to explain about their plans to terminate the seniors of the Kakegurui Club and find Yumeko's mother. "No. It's not like that. It is about what we had plan-" Yumeko cuts her again "Easy, Kira-san. I'm just playing with you. Don't be defensive around me, you know too much about me already. Though, I don't mind kissing you, Kira-san."
Kira feels slightly embarrass and Yumeko notice it even though Kira tries to hide it and keep her cool. "You play too much."
"I have a question." Kira keeps silent, waiting for Yumeko question. Not just a question, any question, plural, she'll answer it all. "The puzzle box I gave you when we first met, tell me you don't know how to solve it or you don't want to solve it, Kira-san?"
Among so many questions, why is this question asked? Kira try to dodge the question. "You keep calling me Kira-san. What's that mean?"
Yumeko smile "I ask first."
"It's up to me whether to answer your question or not."
"Playing hard to get I see. Fine. In Japanese, adding "-san" after a name is a respect and polite way to address someone especially if we don't know their status or relationship. Happy? Now answer mine."
Kira's eyes blinking for a moment. "You respect me?" Yumeko nodding. "Why not? Honestly, I learned a lot from you last semester. You're young but you play like an adult. It excites me. Now, if you don't mind."
Kira talks to herself "Why my chest feels uneasy? I don't like this. It foreign feeling. What is she doing?" Kira stands up and walks toward the door. "Because the puzzle's cute." Yumeko smirks "I thought so! So, it's not that you don't know how to solve it, you just don't want to break it." Yumeko smiling ear to ear once she gets the answer of the question she carry since last semester.
"Welcome to a new semester, Yumeko Jabami." Kira swiftly walks out and close the door behind her leaving a happy Yumeko. "It's going to be so much fun, taisetsu na hito."
