Did you ever have panic attacks when you were 14? If you did what did you do to control them? I'm 14 and I have them all the time. Once I blacked out from one. Meditation goes only so far. Please help me mellon nin.
Not so much at 14, but definitely into my 20s and even today. Panic attacks can, for lack of a better word, suck, especially when you can't control them. But, if you start to learn more about yourself and what triggers these attacks, the easier it gets to control. If you know that a certain thought or action triggers a panic attack, you'll eventually learn how to talk yourself out of those thoughts and talk yourself into action. I know it's a lot harder than it sounds (if anybody knows that, it's me), but it really does work.
I'm lucky enough to have a supportive group of friends and family that have been there for me in my worst moments. It's always a good idea to have at least one person who can maybe talk you down. These days, if I find myself having a panic attack, I try to focus my attention on something, anything, else - like thinking of my breathing and consciously taking deep, even breaths.
You're right when you say meditation can only get you so far sometimes and it's certainly harder to go through all of this alone. If all else fails, there are counselors and therapists out there that can really help you. I'm not a doctor, so I don't know what the regulations and rules are about medication, but you should also talk to doctor about that.
Annnnnd, you can always talk to any one of us if you feel a panic attack coming on.
