I was seriously baffled by the US not having...
But cashiers here are minimum wage workers most of the time, too. Oh, but then they’re always cranky and bitter so I don’t know if that’s better.
In the US a lot of the members of older generations have this idea that if a person works a minimum wage job, they're a bad person. If they were a "good" person, then God would have given them a better job (yes, some people actually think this). Or, they're just too lazy to get a better job, so working them too hard or yelling at them or making them stand all day is just what they deserve.
I was seriously baffled by the US not having chairs for cashiers. But now that I think about it. Japan doesn't allow people to sit either, right? At least not in the supermarkets I went to. It's really a stupid concept, though. Is there a REASON behind this?
As far as I know, the reason in the US is minimum wage workers are less than worthless and ought to be ashamed of themselves for being too lazy to find a better job, despite the fact that they probably can’t for various reasons, and that these minimum wage positions are still important.
Japan may or may not have adopted that same idea, but it might also have something to do with cultural etiquette and not being able to sit if the customer isn’t, but I don’t know.
I don't know why exactly but you remind me of Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle. :) (Not as the old lady, but the younger one of course. :D)
Oh, wow, really? That’s awesome! I love Howl’s Moving Castle and I love Sophie. Aaah, thank you! <3
For the idol ask: Jimin

Not so far b/c I’ve been busy but I might have some time to spare next week. It’s not as thrilling as Fate/Zero so far but ok.
I see! Yes, the tone is pretty different from Zero. Let me know what you think whenever you get the chance!
It sounds like you’ve met the best dog, though. Or I just post too much.
