The House Doesn’t Always Win || Elizabeth & Stan
When: Present Day (Evening) Where: Century Casino With: Stanley @kirkstanbulstrode
“And that my friend is nineteen to your seventeen and a win for me.” With a wink at the tightened jaw of the dealer she reached out and pulled the large pile of token towards her with a triumphant, “Come to Mama. Alright good Sir, how about another round?” While the cards were dealt she lifted her cocktail glass to her lips and took a small sip.
She was attracting a small crowd and rather enjoying the attention. Elizabeth was wearing a deep purple cocktail dress with no arms, matching elbow length gloves, black heels and a small fascinator (she wouldn’t be seen without a hat of some kind) and called a passing waiter, asking for another drink as she took her two cards. After a quick glance she spoke a quiet “Stick.” and waited for the dealer to make his move.
She saw him turn over a six, four and ten and nodded, “Oh boy, that’s a toughie.” As the smirking dealer reached to take her tokens she continued, “Hold on there, fella. I don’t think you beat this:” she flipped her cards to show an ace and a jack and the small crowd before her cheered slightly, “My people,” she bowed to them, taking her next pile of winnings.
