Happy birthday to me :]
All it took to make me Genshin brained again was that blonde alchemist and ragbros, huh.
That's what reading a good fanfic does to a motherfucker.
I'm afraid for America. I'm afraid of the next four years. For women, for people of colour, for the LGBTQ+ community. No one can guarantee what will come tomorrow. No one can say whether things will end up alright. Whether after four years the horror will be over.
How many victims will those four years take? I do not know, I wish for it to be no one, but that's as realistic as it is true. It's utter bullshit.
TikTok is doing propaganda in favour of trump as if it wasn't trump who was for the ban in the first place. Trump is NOT going to be the saviour of your fucking app. And it is not worth losing your principles over.
But through all of this, I want you to live, once more I beg of you to not succumb to the hopelessness that happens around you. Do not fall victim to the propaganda, whether it's the manipulation to be part of the clusterfuck that are his supporters or the manipulation to believe that the best thing you can do is die. It's not.
In the same vein, I'm worried for my own country. We both suffer from the influence of the same egotistical billionaire bigot. Elon Musk should not be in either politics.
Community is the most important thing right now. Support for each other. Support for yourself. It's easier said than done and it will be hard but resilience is the most important thing in the fight for our rights. For the preservation of our rights, as well.
We can do this. German, American or otherwise.
Please continue living. Cry if necessary, hell, destroy a vase if necessary. But please, do not destroy yourself because that's exactly what the system is setting up to want you to do.
When I said I believe in AO3 author curse and when I still posted on AO3, you know, I expected like stupid things like "I broke my hand and couldn't write!" to happen. Not my fucking father dying.
Sigh, I never know whether I should feel flattered or upset over comments like this. Anyway now my betareaders have to deal with something I wrote at 3am with a fever because I let that comment get to me.
Having "Gender and Identity" as a topic in AP English has made me realised that reading—and writing—gay fanfic is NOT the norm.
Girl in my course: *hums an epic song*
Me: Oh! Epic, right?
Girl: YOU KNOW EPIC????
This exchange just completely sums up how it feels to find another person in fandom outside of fandom spaces.
