The Eight for Eight Tag
I was tagged by @blindspot-fanatic, thank you darling!
Rules: Answer eight questions and tag eight people.
1: Last movie I watched
The last movie I watched was ‘Wonder Woman’, I bet you’re all surprised.
2: Last song I listened to
‘Writing on the Wall’ by Bob Moses, I’ve been in a more emotional mood recently & listening to emotional songs, I have a playlist full of them.
3: Last book I read
I read ‘Velour Volume 3′ the other week? It’s a magazine, but I’m going to say it counts. It’s a magazine about fashion, art, drag, etc. created by Sasha Velour.
4: Last thing I ate
I just had a burger and fries for my dinner, then a Fruit Pastilles Ice Lolly for dessert.
5: Which time period would you time travel to
Honestly? I don’t know if you can answer this, but I think I’d love to travel 1,000 years or so into the future to see what the world is like.
6: Fictional character to hang out with for a day
As much as I’d like to say Ziva David, I think I’d probably get on a lot better with Holtzmann from Ghostbusters... Just two ladies who love ladies... Plus she seems fun haha.
7: If I could be anywhere, where would I want to be
If we’re talking a real place, Hawaii! It’s my dream place to visit, especially since Lilo & Stitch is my favourite Disney movie. But if it can be a fictional place, Themyscira. So many badass ladies there, I want them to teach me to be as awesome as them.
8: Current fandom obsession
Wonder Woman for sure, especially Diana and Steve as a couple. Though I’m still really into Drag Race, and Kate McKinnon. And always Tony & Ziva.

loving this sarcastic side of yours loving it
haha dude you should have seen me on twitter last night, they had me so fucking heated. i usually try to stay out of it but when people get to body shaming someone who ISN’T EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO OBESE by calling him unhealthy and saying he’s gonna die before his kids grow up, yeah, i take issue. the man looks like anyone else his age and they need to get a hobby or a job (or both).

ok got it thank you thank you hope she is okay i reaaally miss her xoxoxo
Me too! And I feel bad for the people who paid money to travel to see her. But right now there’s not much we can do except send positive vibes her way.
kissooff last episode was really intense yay
i’m only on ep 9 i should be ashamed of myself
@kissooff oh man I don’t think I have anything particularly exciting or insightful to answer that! It kind of felt like a couple of different ideas melding into one stream of consciousness?
I guess, the first part of that is Gibbs seems to regret a lot of his life choices over the years -- or rather realizes that he sabotaged his personal life post-Shannon & Kelly and is warning Diane not to let herself do the same thing with Victor, since she seems to be on the cusp of self-destructing her own marriage when she has to face some truths she doesn’t like about herself.
I thought it was unusually honest and vulnerable of him to admit that to her, especially because she’s, well, her, but I also think that Gibbs kind of realizes the part he’s played in why she is the way she is. (Except I think Diane was probably always a little bit nuts, but that’s a whole other discussion.)
But then she makes that comment about him ending up all alone -- sorry, I forget the exact nature of the conversation -- and he explains that he isn’t alone. And we know he’s not, because he’s wearing that NCIS-emblazened ball cap, which I’m sure was deliberate. Because the team as much his family now as she was briefly back in the day, but it’s obvious the NCIS is a much more permanent fixture in his life, and he realizes the importance of their role in it.
I mean, we get those moments once in a while, like that time he told Ziva you’re never alone when you have kids (one of my faves btw), but I guess I like the recurring nature of that theme -- that it’s the family he’s made with these people that he cherishes, that they’re able to fill part of the void in him (however minor) that was left when his blood family was destroyed. Have I mentioned I’m a sucker for that trope lately? Because I am.
So I guess the TL;DR is that the hat is very blatantly representative of the NCIS family and I love this band of misfits? Gibbs may realize that he has closed himself off and hasn’t lived a full life post-Shannon, and doesn’t want anyone to follow his example in that, yet in spite of that, he’s managed to salvage some kind of family through the team.
(Did that make any sense? I’m so sorry.)
