Bandit Toby pisses me off so damn badly.
Nah cuz if I was in Toby’s position, I would not be trusting ANYBODY in that town ever again after the events of “Bandit Toby”. That episode got me FUCKED UP.
It was just so out of character for everyone- how in the actual HELL could NOBODY tell the difference between Kit and Toby??? Their skin(? They’re a plants so idk if “skin is the right word but whatever) is a different color, they even have different hats- HOW????
The episode genuinely pisses me off SO damn badly because the way everyone acts is so out of character it HURTS to watch. And no one thinks about how abnormal of behavior this would be for Toby. Like- I understand being upset that someone is stealing, that’s reasonable to feel, but as I said— NOBODY stops for a minute to think about WHY Toby is acting like this. They don’t stop and take a minute to wonder why Toby is acting up, which is STUPID because Toby is typically a very well behaved kid!
And another thing- even if this WAS Toby going around and stealing shit— nobody really takes into account that this could be a mental health thing. For all we know Toby could’ve been a Kleptomaniac and the Kleptomania got triggered by smtg or another! Again- why is nobody concerned at the very abnormal behavior coming from “Toby”? Nobody checks up on him, nobody tries to ask if he was okay, I imagine Callie would’ve, but her and Peck were out looking for Kit.
Kit Cactus himself is a very interesting character and I like the idea behind him, I just hate that he had to show up in an episode like this.
Here’s an alt idea to introduce Kit Cactus:
Perhaps Kit pretends to be a law abiding civilian, hopping off of the stage coach and Toby—seeing another living cactus like him—decides to befriend Kit and so Kit decides to pretend be his friend.
This is when Kit begins stealing stuff all over town, just small amounts at first. But then he goes even bigger like farmer stinkys crops and even sheriff Callie’s guitar, Sweet Strings.
Toby suspects that Kit is stealing, but nobody really takes him to seriously because Kit acts like a well-behaved angel around everyone else. Tio and Callie don’t really think anything is happening, but they put it on the back burner for now.
Kit is caught obviously, but only after Toby chases him through town after catching him steal again, which in-turn exposes his theivery to everyone else.
