Realla - TOKiMONSTA feat. Anderson Paak (HWLS remix).
Any day of the week, a track by Los Angeleno Korean-American TOKiMONSTA, currently one of the most eclectic and original producers in EDM (not to mention one of the few female producers making waves in a largely male-dominated scene), is enough to make me sit up and take notice. “Realla”, off last year’s Desiderium, seductively pairs a soulful R&B beat and ambient production with syrupy vocals from fellow Californian Anderson Paak.
You’re sold already, right? It doesn’t stop there though. Then HWLS, the Perth-based production team made up of Ta-Ku and Kit Pop, got their hands on the track, adding more layers of synth, horn and bass and, with that, an entirely new dimension to an already-solid song. The resulting remix, released earlier this month, injects “Realla” with an amplified moodiness and downtempo hypnotic edge that somehow keeps your head gently nodding long after the track has ended – assuming you haven’t already pressed “Play” again, of course.

Keeping the rattling trap rampant with another wicked remix. This time, it's an edit of Australian duo Hermitude's Through The Roof by fellow Down Under production act HWLS. Don't forget who HWLS is from prior features. It's only an act made up of producers Ta-Ku and Kit Pop, after all. I don't know what's up with the major future bass and trap producer team ups on today's remixes (reference prior post with RL Grime and Salva), but HWLS drops it hot on the massive Hermitude remix, giving it a hypnotic bass roll and sprucing it up with an abundance of chopped up energetic vocal samples. This remix is way through the roof.
HWLS x B.LEWIS We hope you enjoy "001". A quick bass jawn to tide you over while we finish our EP. * * * * * https://twitter.com/hwlsmusic https://instagram.com/hwls_ https://www.facebook.com/hwlsmusic * * * * * https://soundcloud.com/blewie17 http://blewis.bandcamp.com https://twitter.com/blewis
