Missed Updates, and August/September Backlog

I’m sure some of you have noticed that this blog hasn’t been updated in two months, and I feel bad making this post after the last one back in July promising more consistent activity, but essentially what happened is a case of burnout.

Not that hitting reblog or writing any of our other posts is particularly difficult, but August for me personally (Mod Andy) was particularly busy and stressful on both a personal and professional level (Being a working adult trying to have any semblance of a social life during a pandemic sucks. Do not recommend.) Basically, something had to give, and for me it was updating this blog, since the new season of Hetalia had finished airing and other blogs such as @hetascanlations​, @hetarchive​, and @hetaliabuyblog​ - among others - had coverage of current news and releases more than handled. Still, I know the Kitawiki is a valued resource for many, and my hope is that it will continue to grow and flourish even despite hiatuses from mods for whatever reason comes along.

I’d also like to apologize for any missed or overlooked messages from the last two months. We appreciate you reaching out and engaging with us and I will be getting to them as soon as I can over the next few days.

I was originally going to make this a roundup post as well, but because news has slowed down and there’s slightly fewer items than I had expected, over the next 24 hours I’ll be running a queue on this blog to make sure key updates (such as new serialized manga chapters) are mirrored on this blog. History has taught me that content on the internet can never be backed up enough, and hopefully it should be spaced out enough that it won’t flood anyone’s dashboard.

Update Delays

Apologies for being slow at updating this blog for the past couple of weeks. I’d like to say it’s because I’ve been busy with my adult job but it’s more “my sleep schedule has been really bad lately and it’s been difficult to concentrate on tasks”. Luckily, while posts on this blog have been lacking, we’ve been doing our best to update the Kitawiki to reflect the news that has been coming out (such as the new album artwork for the second World Stars character CD and the casting information for the next Hetalia Musical).

We’ll do our best to get back in a routine on here, as well as continuing existing work on the site. (For those curious, we are working on a draft mockup for a standalone page for Malaysia, among other projects).

I’d also like to take the time to thank @hetascanlations @hetaliabuyblog and @hetarchive for always been on top of all this, and all the work that goes into making this series accessible for a wider international fan base.

Apologies for the radio silence during this very long hiatus, but I thought it was worth mentioning that we’ve recently rolled out major revisions to the Manga section on the Hetalia Wiki. Most notable is the listing for non-linear webcomics, which is now organized by publication date using metadata collected before Kitayume shut down in April 2019 (along with links to where each comic is currently hosted). This data has also been implemented across other pages in the section as well.
