This is a lovely pan ideal for making sauces such as pepper or Bernaise. It is perfect as it has a cover and is a genuine stove to table item. This is beautiful and delicate but robust and heavy for its size. It is a really good size for a butter pan. It is a pan that looks great on a shelf, stove or table. It is of exceptional quality and balance, the lid is lovely. It weighs 1 kilo 2lb 2.5 ozs is 14 cm across about 5.5 inches. This is a pan that would look lovely on a table with a sauce, a gratin or any food for sharing! There is real wear, surface scratches on the outside due to cleaning and storage, the tin lining has darkend. It has been cleaned and polished and look totally the part. Please note this is solid copper with a tin lining a an exquisite cast bronze long handle. It has been lovingly maintained and polished for many years. This was made in Villedieu, it has no manufacturing marks. It has been raised and hammered into shape. the handle is has beautiflly hammered rivets. It has an exceptional patina that cannot be faked or replicated, it is something that occurs over time and use. If you want one statement piece in your kitchen you could do a lot worse than this. It looks great and has a long illustrious story to tell. This has been used in a French commercial kitchen and has been really well looked after. There are three copper rivets on the handle which are securely fixed. This can do everything in volume! This weighs 3.2 kilos 7lbs 1.5 ozs for the pan and lid. It measures 24 cm across about 9.5 inches. This was used in a French provincial home and was used extensively, it has darkening of the tin lining. The outside has some surface scratches on the base, there are indentations and dinks on the lid and it has a wavy edge in places but it is all authentic wear and adds to the story of the pan. Heritage on your hob! These sort of casseroles get passed down through generations as they are so useful and rarely come onto the market in this condition, well cared for and well used.
