Can we talk about how I sliced my finger open at work today

with the fucking bread knife! like first of all why is the BREAD fucking knife serrated? like i thought bread knifes were supposed to be the long smooth skinny type. that shit went through my flesh like butter.

Today was a "treat yo' self" day. Made fried chicken with rice, and homemade oatmeal cookies with M&Ms. And if everything goes right, back to school this summer, June, for my BA. And so far, money wise, looking good, no need to pay out of pocket, because the Pell Grant and student loans will cover that. No need to pay..... until ten years from now. Yay, America.

Kitchen Duties || Yoochun x Dongwoo

Yoochun entered the meal tent. It was, predictably, more or less empty. There were a few people milling about, either looking for a wide, hard surface to work on--of which the tables they had provided--or were simply passing through. The tables were clean from whoever had been in charge of tidying things up before these teams had been established. Nobody had eaten yet, obviously, as Yoochun and the other cirque members in charge of kitchen duties had not yet cooked any food. That was what he was here now to do. Start cooking breakfast--a term he had come to use loosely in relation to life at the cirque. It was the first meal they ate, yes, but it certainly wasn't eaten early in the morning and it wasn't always traditional breakfast foods being cooked. Yoochun had been in the meal tent numerous times before, and he was familiar with it. He knew how many tables there were, knew where they were always set up, knew where his fellow cirque members always chose to sit. What he wasn't familiar with, though, was the kitchen area itself. He'd never actually cooked any food in this kitchen before, and certainly not for such a large amount of people. He knew he wasn't the only one preparing anything. He was just one part of the team. However, that didn't make him any less nervous. What if he majorly screwed up? Food was what gave people the energy to get through the day. The cirque members especially needed their meals. Everybody worked so hard and burned the energy quickly. And, Yoochun knew, some people became quite crabby if they were hungry, and nobody wanted that. Yoochun sighed and headed toward the kitchen. He was worrying far too much about things these days. Changmin was supposed to be the one who worried over everything. Sure he himself had a tendency to over-think things, but lately it had been a bit much--even for him. As he approached the kitchen he slowed and scanned the tent around him. He wondered if he was the first one here. None of the other cirque members in the tent seemed to make any movements to head toward the kitchen with Yoochun. Perhaps there were already some of his teammates in the kitchen waiting, just as Yoochun assumed he would be doing.  It wasn't that he minded being alone, per say, but it felt awkward. He didn't quite feel that he was supposed to be going into the kitchen, and he knew that feeling wouldn't go away when he actually stepped into the kitchen. It would affect how well he prepared the food, he knew, if he couldn't get over the fact that he was in the kitchen and cooking for everybody, and vowed to do his best to push away his awkwardness. He could just imagine it now: nobody would know where anything was or what things did or how to do things, and instead of asking for help or trying to figure things out for themselves, they would leave it alone and for somebody else to deal with. Nothing would get done and they'd all be either awkwardly standing around or running about like chickens with their heads cut off.  Yoochun took in a breath. He was over-thinking things again and, as a result, was working himself up into a panic. He briefly clasped his wolf necklace, gave a firm nod, and walked into the kitchen.
