Time passing by

A Time passing by projekt az okostelefonok által olvasható, alternatív markerek területén folytatott kísérlet az AR technológiával. Az installációban használt marker különlegessége, hogy egy forma perspektivikus torzításaiként jelenik meg, ami egyrészt a sorozatelvűséget, másrészt az időbeli skálázás lehetőségét is bevezeti mint új elem. A torzításhoz használt „árnyjáték” működési elve, hogy a felfüggesztett gubacs három, rögzített pozícióból fényelve három különböző árnyékot vet, amelyek markerként élesednek be.

Az installációban gyorsan pulzáló LED-es spotok jelentik a fényforrást, amelyek változékony formákat vetítenek a falra, ezek mobillal beolvasva animációkat jelenítenek meg az eszköz kijelzőjén. Az elképzelés könnyen adaptálható a városi térre, amennyiben a mesterséges fény helyébe természetes napfény, a napórahatást keltő objektum helyére pedig bármilyen köztéren álló szobor, emlékmű vagy építészeti elem kerül. A Time passing by projekt alapgondolta, hogy a fizikai tér folyamatosan változó megjelenéséhez hangolja a virtuális tér-időben zajló folyamatokat.

The Time passing by project is an experiment in non-traditional markers within the field of AR technology. Alternate to the regular graphic markers, the ones presented here are sequential and to be comprehended within a time frame, or to say it with a cyber-romantic edge, as ‘time passes by’. The markers projected onto the wall are generated from a singular form by the manipulation of the perspective through the means of light. The genre of shadow-play has a long history in theatre, going back to medieval market place as its authentic scenery, therefore, the re-adaptation of the concept into the city of today comes as natural. The pulsating LED lights can easily be replaced by the sun, in the place of the object in the spotlight any urban monuments, static sculptures or other architectural elements can be found. The working method of the installation is similar to a sun clock, with the shadow being re-defined as bridging to other, digital contents that we can observe through the smart phones while passing by.
