Ummm YAY!!
Okay we have a last minute practice planned for Friday, I got a ride arranged! That's the 1st YAY! Then Sunday is "Open Streets Waterloo" and our team has a table and we were planning on doing mini on skate demos etc, and I got a ride!! That's the 2nd YAY!! Now last but not least I just snagged a ride to the Fall EquiKNOCKS too!! YAY!! I have been feeling so out of the loop. This brings a much needed smile to my face. Especially since I found out Skills testing was this past Sunday. At least I have time to get things up to par for the next one.
**Bout Posters**
Well I have been drafted to make the next big bouts poster. I thought I was waiting for the new logo turns out not so much. So I get a text asking how they were coming along since they were hoping to print this week…. Eeek!!
So I get all ready to start on it. Then get a message asking if since I am doing the poster can I do the tickets and handouts too? Well of course, I I am doing one may as well make them all look uniform :)
I just finished the b&w ticket and the hand bill :) I am happy with them all! I am now just waiting on the final word of where we will be selling advanced tickets. I’ll post as soon as I finish them. Ta ta for now ;)
**Fighting Fräuleins**
Us ladies down at LOCO Kitchener are excited to announce that our new home team name will be the Fighting Fräuleins! So in celebration of our new name we are collecting submissions for a logo until August 29th (2 weeks). So if you or someone you know I interested in taking a stab at this please email your artwork to this email ([email protected]) by August 29th. A reminder our team colours are green, black and gold. Other than that you have creative reign! Once all submissions are in LOCO Kitchener team will vote on the winner. Further details and awards for the artist of the winning logo will be decided on soon by the BOD.
Not All Fun and Games...
So I got some individual team member photos done. I havnt uploaded them yet, but soon. I had my brothers three kids over for the weekend so things are just calming down.
I brought my daughter (6) and my brothers three kids to practice with me. They are (13) (11) & (9). I told the kids that they were not to come interrupt practice unless someone was missing a limb.
Well the oldest stuck around to watch practice, the others were allowed to go play at the park as long as they always stayed together. Well I was in the middle of a relay exercise and I start hearing my team call my name. Look over and see all kids at the entry to the rink.
My daughter was in the middle of them all with blood oozing in large amounts through her hair and down her forehead. I panicked a little in my mind. Pepper was on her way to grab the first aid kit for me as I took the kids into the change room I get my gear off in a hurry to deal with the injury.
First I checked it over and removed as much of the blood as I could. It turns outfit was a small puncture. She some how had the teeter totter down on top of her head. I was so thankful I for the bleeding to stop. I was also so thankful my team was so awesome at keeping all the kids calm :) GO TEAM!
