Ummm YAY!!
Okay we have a last minute practice planned for Friday, I got a ride arranged! That's the 1st YAY! Then Sunday is "Open Streets Waterloo" and our team has a table and we were planning on doing mini on skate demos etc, and I got a ride!! That's the 2nd YAY!! Now last but not least I just snagged a ride to the Fall EquiKNOCKS too!! YAY!! I have been feeling so out of the loop. This brings a much needed smile to my face. Especially since I found out Skills testing was this past Sunday. At least I have time to get things up to par for the next one.
**Bout Posters**
Well I have been drafted to make the next big bouts poster. I thought I was waiting for the new logo turns out not so much. So I get a text asking how they were coming along since they were hoping to print this week…. Eeek!!
So I get all ready to start on it. Then get a message asking if since I am doing the poster can I do the tickets and handouts too? Well of course, I I am doing one may as well make them all look uniform :)
I just finished the b&w ticket and the hand bill :) I am happy with them all! I am now just waiting on the final word of where we will be selling advanced tickets. I’ll post as soon as I finish them. Ta ta for now ;)
**Fighting Fräuleins**
Us ladies down at LOCO Kitchener are excited to announce that our new home team name will be the Fighting Fräuleins! So in celebration of our new name we are collecting submissions for a logo until August 29th (2 weeks). So if you or someone you know I interested in taking a stab at this please email your artwork to this email ([email protected]) by August 29th. A reminder our team colours are green, black and gold. Other than that you have creative reign! Once all submissions are in LOCO Kitchener team will vote on the winner. Further details and awards for the artist of the winning logo will be decided on soon by the BOD.
I Posted Bills...
Well my man and I went on a poster hanging mission last night. Posted all over downtown Galt. I need to get more to litter more of this fine city lol. Hopefully we get a good turn out on the 11th!
Team Photos to Commence!
Yay! We got my moms truck fixed. So I can go to practice Saturday. Since a few important team players will not be available for practice I will be starting some individual team headshots. I will be there early and sent out a shout out for anyone to show a bit early so we don’t cut into practice time and all. I wanna skate!
More of the Basics...
Well we started work, well with thee fresh meat; on pushing, dropping out or popping up from a push, as well as some very effective blocking :) I have been working on my shuffling, well that is what I call it. We did some good exercises on learning our footwork to shuffle foot behind a blocker, trick em out then dash around. I enjoyed that one. We also did a few pack drills, which a few also dealt with shuffling from inside track to outside track as a pack. I took a nice skid and landed flat on my hip at one point in warm up. So I was a little turtled up. However with some of the good kind of peer pressure I broke free :) I got some backwards skatin in too. I am getting bits more distance and speed.
