When I said I wanted to be a Manic Pixie Dream Girl - this is the kind I meant.
It was really something to go from the kid who wouldn’t look you in the eye to the woman who screamed her heart out (and nearly gave herself whiplash in the crowd) - all while wearing shoes that are old enough to buy themselves a drink 🤘🏻

When you try to explain roller derby, it seems the first thought is that everyone’s a hardnut and all we want to do is maim each other, (we do, but only a little bit). But I’ll never quite believe the kindness and patience I’ve been shown by the team.
This has been said so many times, but it’s never saying “don’t be a wuss”.

Have patience and keep trying.

This has been said at training so many times that I had to draw it out. I may even have to print it and stick it up💖 I’d love to eventually draw all the good and funny advice I’ve ever been given whilst skating.

I think they are neat!
Two new(ish) faces for the Midnight Shift: Lilli Bernstein and JR Mason. Bernie is a total newcomer, but Mason kind of evolved from Jason. The rhyming name is an unfortunate coincidence - it was surprisingly hard to pick a name for him, and I’m still open to suggestions.
They’re crazy about each other.
