Murder Meet Cute: Meet Amy and Her Dark Fight
Murder Meet Cute is an interactive fiction game that has its sights on both Linux and Windows. Developer Kitico joins LABORARE and Crybaby Studios are all working to bring this title to life. Due to make its way onto Steam. Murder Meet Cute will get a fresh new trailer on June 1. It will air live during the Horror Game Awards showcase. The clip will show Amy fighting a dark force that stalks her town.
A Closer Look at Amy
The gameplay made its first reveal at InterfaceX26. Since this next trailer will focus more on its tale. Amy is a strong goth who runs a repair shop. Yet her work soon turns grim. A foul force wants to hurt her. The new clip will show how she fights back. It may also hint at the deaths in her small town. The Horror Game Awards show is now in its fourth year. This year’s event aims to be its biggest yet.
Murder Meet Cute Mixes PCs and Fear
This interactive fiction title has a smart hook. You search fake 90s PC systems for clues. Amy works on her own home PC too. She also checks machines left by shop clients. Each system can hide parts of a life. Those files may hold clues about the town. You will read emails and forum posts. You can also use DOS-like tools and chat apps. The gameplay also featuress UI ideas that feel close to ICQ. Some scenes may feel warm and calm. While others can turn tense or grim fast.
Picross Puzzles Fight Viruses
Amy uses “Crypto-Nonographic” tech while fixing each PC. This means picross-style puzzles form part of each repair. Solve one and the grid can shift. It turns into a gross virus that needs one last fix. This gives each job a clear game loop. First, you solve the clue grid. Then you deal with what crawls out. The mix fits the title’s odd tone. It joins cosy PC work with sharp horror.
Murder Meet Cute Extended Story Trailer
Digging Through Hidden Lives
The main case links to deaths across Amy’s town. Client PCs may hold key facts. Talks at the shop may fill the gaps. Amy also spends time on a local plot forum. Its users may think they know the truth. She plans to prove them wrong first. Murder Meet Cute leans hard into 90s style. Its art draws from old FMV releases. It also has new music based on 90s industrial sounds. That should help set its grim mood. There is room for sharp humour too. Amy is not built to smile at rude clients. The gameplay frames that as a goth power trip.
Murder Meet Cute Support Is Confirmed
The release is coming to Steam for Linux. That native build is always good news for PC fans.
...we fully intend to launch with a Linux version.
The founder of kitico.games now uses Linux full time. Since they switched from Windows to Zorin OS a few months ago. The studio also plans to launch with a native version. The team is using Unity for this project. For future releases, the studio hopes to move to Godot. For now, Unity lets the team focus on making the full release. Steam Deck support has not been confirmed. There are no test results yet. The team has also shared no system needs. Proton support should not be needed for the native build.
