The war had long been concluded, peace was at everyone's grasp , but doesn't mean that wrong doers disappeared along it's leader. There's still a lot of factions that supports ozai's regime, stirring trouble here && there , the group wasn't huge on numbers but it's still alarming regardless. Deep in the forest, on her own , toph found herself in a dire predicament — actually scratch that, it's not dire for her but it's definitely dire for the four fire bender hooligan who stumbled upon her .

Fire && Earth collides against one another , as toph extended her forearms forward with precision errupting a huge chunk of bedrock from earth , to shield herself against the upcoming inferno coming to her . It's 3 man down && one more left to go ; even with the thick stone protecting her , the sweat on her face increases as the heat from the fire heightend upon the desperation coming from the fire bender, toph could only smirk on how she doesn't find this difficult not all , she had fought a hundred of firebenders in his life time && this huge hunk over here is nothing compared to them still toph tracked his movements through earth , she recognized the craftiness of his style . Adding grease to his flame , to amplfy the heat was a nasty tactic she respect. Finally deciding to end this prolonged game , toph slammed her heel to the ground, the earth responded instantly in return , as a jagged stone rushed straight towards the firebender like an unstoppable runaway train && as this happens, the mixture of grease, fire && rock merged into a violent collision meant to knock the bender out but before the impact could land, her seismic senses noticed a rushing feet, approaching fast to their direction. Before she couldn even process what's going on , her ears twitch as she recognized the sound of fluid being whipped through the air. Realization hit her like a lightning as she turned her head towards the stranger , her voice sharp with warning. ❝ Don't !!— it would cause an explosi — ❞ BAM !! A loud && blinding explosion ripped through the forest clearing , sending the three of them being thrown with force . Toph had managed just in time to cover herself with earth , protecting her feet && body from the impact , the water bender that joined the fray on the other hand she wasn't sure. As she landed back to the ground with a loud yelp, she slowly stood up , rubbing her butt as the armor of dirt she made started crumbling. Taking her moment , to check herself before walking towards the stranger. Dropping low , she caught him by the collar && hooked a hand under his shoulder, hauling him aggressively back to his feet without any regard of sympathy.

❝ Appreciate the help water boy , but i would love it more if you don't turn me into popcorn! ❞ Toph barked , a frown on her face . ❝ -- I'm no genius with fire && water but what the hell you are thinking that's grease !? ❞

oh, look at that⸻he hit a nerve. why did satisfaction flush through his chest and why did he find himself smiling? it was data to be monitored. maybe she reminded him of celine: frigid, calculated, reserved; maybe it was the way her misery nourished him with the caloric density of a thousand grand meals, or maybe. . .he saw potential. though he didn't know the source of her torrential, unbridled pain, there was a force, a strength not many humans could alchemize. he wanted to know more.

"that's not really for you to say." her tone is assertive, and about two years ago, it would've been taken as hostile — any business the fire nation had with the earth kingdom was. but the right people in the fire nation were trying to give them the reparations they deserved, and mai was one of those intent on seeing it through. she didn't expect anyone in the earth kingdom to accept their efforts to right their century-long wrongs easily, but changes weren't being made just to change how her nation was perceived. they were being made because they were necessary.

"the fire lord himself requested that the true history of the fire nation be taught in the royal fire academy for girls now. the same is being done for the boys' academy." mai would gladly teach them too if she could be in two places at once. she trusts that zuko chose another person in favor of the reformation to teach at the royal fire academy for boys. "would you rather the next generation of the fire nation be doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past?"

Fingertips tap against the console at the center of the room. "I haven't really given it much thought." Because there is only this. There is only the music and why dawdle in the what ifs when there is more to be had in the here and now? There is mystery and fear in the what ifs and frankly the room of what ifs is suffocating compared to the present. Klo shrugs her shoulders and slurps in some noodles from her ramyeon cup. "Hopefully still doing this. Why? Do you dream of something different?"
